I only just got the notice in the mail. Debating whether to wait for the other recall notice (48V ground connection), which was made public about 2 weeks ago. That also means I won't get that notice for another 3 weeks at least!

We got the recall notice for the transmission issue yesterday. I am a bit hesitant to mess with it as the transmission has functioned flawlessly in the 32,000 miles we've put on the car.

We took our 2022 GLS450 in today for the transmission recall. It only took about 30 minutes total for the work to be done. Hoping it will continue to shift as it did before the work, as it was smooth and no jerking or clunking. They also did the repair for the pending issue with the ground cable on the battery under the passenger seat. The bill did not describe what was done to fix that problem, but, I'm glad the fire hazard has been addressed.

Would you folks have the dealer do the recall work with scheduled maintenance or keep them separate?

I'm going to do the recall ASAP.

I got both the tranny and ground cable work done yesterday at my local dealer during regular 'A' service. I wa sin and out in two hours, and everything went fine. Tranny seems smoother.

My dealer won't do both recalls (only the earlier transmission one that I got the letter for)!

“Recall? What recall? Recall? You want to discuss recall? Recall. Recall? We cannot duplicate”……said every MB dealership in Washington DC.
Fire you say? That’s not a fire sir, thats the advance a$$ heating assist feature. That will be $2,375.
Took nearly 20 months from start to finish for a cracked seat cover. This ought to be good…
Best thing ever to happen to Lexus, is Mercedes Benz…

Yes we got the transmission notice too. Screw it. It’s never happened to us, and I’d rather watch the thing burn in the driveway than do another round of Penske Mercedes Benz….

2023 GLE450 Shifting into Neutral at low speeds
I have a 2023 GLE450 within less than 12,000 miles I purchased new 1.5 years ago. Ran perfectly until two weeks ago at low speeds after driving ~5 miles it would shift into neutral, I needed to pull over, put the car in park and turn off the car and it back on to have power again, very concerning as one time it happened in rush hour traffic. I took my car into the dealer and had the transmission recall which included a software update and installing a "battery maintainer", also had the 48V and fuel pump recall done. Have driven the car 2 days and 40 miles since picking it up and everything seems to be working as normal, fingers crossed this fixed it, will update if I have any further problems. I would suggest getting the recall work done asap to be safe.

MB is simply low quality product. Low quality is defined by inconsistent performance. MB is the textbook definition of inconsistency and low quality.

I have a small stack of recall notices now on my desk. This morning it slammed into 4th gear while leaving the neighborhood for a school run. Trans fluid has 20k miles on it. Not dealing with that nonsense again after my 212.

Man, this recall made things worse. We have a 2023 GLS 450 and it was fine for the first year. But in the 2 weeks after the recall was performed, the car has had 3 instances where it either feels like it is going to stall out when decelerating (car would start to shudder/jitter), or won't engage a gear properly on acceleration. The latter occurrence is super-bad when you're trying to get up to speed on a busy road.
For real, if I had to do it over again, I never would have done this recall. It legit is making things worse and introducing problems for us when none existed before.
