GLS450 23 Manufacture Defect Water Damage CAR STALLED NOT DRIVABLE FIRE SMELL
Anyone have a GLS450 that has a manufacture defect that flooded your SUV? A condensation line in the rear was slowly leaking for almost a year! I brought it in to be checked out and Mercedes said it was normal condensation! Not true!!! This is my 5th gl/gls 450 never had any problems ever before this! It stalled malfunctioned smelled of burning wires ? My car has now been at the dealership since MAY 2, 2024! The GLS IS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD! It needs a brand new body harness. I filed a complaint with MERCEDES USA & still nothing back !! My case sits at an executive level and still I call and nothing no updates nothing at all !! I had all four children in my car when it smelled of burning wires it was very traumatizing. The harness is corroded. Question: was the fluid that was leaking harmful to us to breathe? I know this happened before due to recalls ! How can MERCEDES LET THIS HAPPEN! The entire dash shut down the AC turned completely off, the car stalled twice!!! The trunk wouldn’t close the entire car smelled of burning wires and was making strange noises. I was driving and the car just shut down on its own. Thank god I was not on a freeway ! I’m going to call an attorney if Mercedes does not fix this ! I’ve been waiting patiently for two months tomorrow.

Sorry for your issue. There was a recall for the condensation drain for pre-facelift GLEs, and maybe this applied to the GLS too.
Personally, I'd try to lemon it or have them buy it back. I would not want to drive a car after the harness was replaced just because I feel like it would never drive the same. See here:

The liquid itself is not likely to be that harmful (if it was a condensation line, then it was almost pure water - there is a whole industry around condensing and extracting water from air as fancy drinking water). If the leak was going on for longtime there might be some mold but again I doubt it would be a health concern if you have been symptom-free. Burnt wires and alike are likely to release harmful chemicals, but again, that's not something we are not already exposed to when living in polluted cities and suburbs, so I wouldn't worry much about any lasting negative health effects for your family.
As for the car, Lemon laws differ from state to state (assuming you live in the US) so you need to check your local laws but having spent around 2 months in repair shop would meet the criteria in most states. This being said, a much easier and more straightforward process is buy-back, so I recommend that you press hard on them (MBUSA if you are in the US) to buy it back from you. You will get all your money plus title/registration/etc back and you won't need to get an attorney involved. Good luck!

I’m hoping and praying this is what Mercedes will decide to do. It’s summertime and with vacations planned and school starting too I need a reliable car. My face dropped seeing what the car looks like to replace the body harness. The car was a Mother’s Day gift to me after leasing my other Mercedes my husband and I decided to purchase this ! And now here we stand. My youngest daughter is terrified to get into a Mercedes now afraid it will catch fire. I’ve been a Mercedes obsessed person since I was 17 now 25 years later I’m considering leaving Mercedes. No one seems to take ownership and MERCEDES USA says it’s taking up to 6 weeks to evaluate. That is NOT OK!!!! This is our family car we rely on and no way do I ever want to get back into that car I feel unsafe. The need to make me whole or I'm

This recall is related to the 48v Battery clamp. They just have to tighten it to make sure it's not loose.

Two months now at the Mercedes Dealership : GLS450 2023 water damage/fire smell/rear trunk stopped working/ entire dash and AC stopped STALLED WHEN DRIVING !!!!!
