Noob question on buying a CPO GLS580

Hi,

Noob question here....thinking about buying a CPO GLS580 however given there are only 4 months remaining in 2024 would it be better price-wise to hold off till 2025 so the price gets 1 more year of depreciation?

Do the dealers only mark down with the extra 1 year of depreciation in 2025 or do they do it some time toward end of 2024?

Sorry if my understanding of how depreciation works is off.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Typically older cars take another hit in value as soon as the new MY is available on lots for delivery.
Recently, @RJC was considering ordering a MY25 GLS and may have additional insight on delivery date (you can PM him even if he's moved on to something else)!

Thanks for the tip. That makes sense. I'll look into the MY25 delivery dates.

The prices are based on market forces (depreciation) and they don't adjust immediately once a new model comes out. Dealers slowly drop the price until someone buys it, and if it sits on the lot for months, they'll swap it onward to another dealer.
