What year is the vehicle? I wonder if you need to have a 2025 or 2024 vehicle to have it.

Usually if the V167 GLE gets it the X167 GLS will get it too, so maybe you are looking at model year 2026: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle63s-gl...53-2025-a.html

2024 GLS450
If you want:
  • more space than a Q7
  • better looks than the hideous 2023+ X7
  • technology features that don't feel 10 years old like the GLS
  • better handling or smaller exterior dimensions than the body-on-frame Escalade/Navigator
  • don't like $20,000 dealer markups and panel rattles like the Range Rover
Then the Lincoln Aviator is worth a test drive.

I've had THREE X7s before I switched to GLS just about 6 months ago.... I had the 2019 X7 50i, 2022 X7 M50, and brand-new X7 M60i last year that had serious issues from day-1 and BMW took care of it. I then switched to the GLS.

No regrets so far other than missing the ID7 and ID8 in BMWs, but not a big deal when 99% of our time in the car is with CarPlay or AndroidAuto.

Otherwise, comfort in the GLS is better, cabin size is much better, it's higher and has better design in my view. Seats comforts is much better as well. If you had full Merino leather, you will miss that premiums feeling in the GLS (almost every BMW is better than any Benz as far as cabin materials). As far as drivetrain, the V8 in the X7 is much better than that in the GLS, but that's why I opted for the 450 inline 6 GLS, which is really smooth. Transmission is really trash in most Mbenz cars, so please please please go ahead and do yourself a favor: drive both the GLS 580 and also the 450, and decide if you really feel any difference in terms of smoothness especially coming from a BMW. 450 was the only way to go for me; at least it shifts smoother and the engine delivers just about the right amount of power and responds nicely.

I don't regret getting a GLS even after 3 different X7s. My wife likes the BMW driving experience though, but as a family we both know that GLS is offering us more as a family, and it's not a big deal as we still have the X5.

As far as digital key; there is no digital key, but just like your 2019 X7 there is an app, and the only difference is that newer Mbenz cars with Mercedes Me Connect respond soooo quickly and faster than our BMW. I'd say our GLS responds to lock/unlock/condition signals in about 1 second. You can't use the phone as a key so yes you need to keep the keys on you, which my 2022 BMW doesn't require. Shame but you can't get everything u need in one car nowadays.

I'd say go for it.
