'25 GLS 450 with tow package brake controller info

I posted this because the lack of credible info for the '25 model year at vendors websites. My newly acquired '25 GLS 450 (love it) has the factory tow package and I didn't see anything about a trailer brake controller available for a '25 model year. Websites list the '23 model year but rest assured the plug and play options available do indeed integrate perfectly to a '25. Tekonsha is the brand and the controllers listed are simple plug and play install. The factory plug is dangling in the driver's side foot well area and matches the harness plug. I purchased from this vendor: https://www.towuniverse.com/2017-2023-mercedes-benz-gls450-tekonsha-brake-evn-proportional-brake-controller-for-trailers-with-1-4-axles-black-8508220/

I hope this helps someone have confidence the online catalogs are correct and the harness will fit perfectly.

What you bought will work.

Attached are MB instructions and parts list for the brake controller pigtail. You can use any brand/model controller.

I use a Tekonsha Prodigy RF controller. I believe it works better than a previous Tekonsha high end hardwired unit - the one you bought.
One of the reasons I like it is that I strap the control unit to the console instead of drilling holes in the dash.
AND the accelerometer (that controls the controller) is on the trailer, not the tow vehicle, and the difference is noticeable, especially at low speeds like maneuvering into a gas station or backing into a parking space.

great info there but I am not leaving that controller in place 100% of the time. It is simple to disconnect and reconnect so I will keep it in the center console until it is time to use. The idea of drilling and hard mounting isn't really necessary as long as the unit is relatively parallel to the ground and it isn't able to shift. A bit of double sided tape should suffice for the moments I tow with the GLS. I will find a spot on the console area to secure it within easy reach. Of course this isn't a perfect solution but it is the simplest.

2025 GLS 450
Thanks for pointing this out. I recently installed a Redarc Tow Pro Liberty in our GLS 450. Pretty simple install. I love this controller and also have it in our Ford Ranger.

1) Parts: Tekonsha/MB plug adapter, Redarc/Tekonsha plug adapter, Redarc Tow Pro Liberty
2) Remove the bottom panel and the side panel on the driver's side
3) install two adapter cables and plug into tow controller
4) drill 3/8 hole and 1/8 hole (for led light) in dashboard and plug into the controller
5) Install controller pushbutton and zip tie brake controller to metal support behind dashboard.
6) Button everything up. Works like magic.
