Service A Costs $375
Location: St. Louis, MO.
I like to see this information before I purchase a car, so I'm sharing it now to help prospective buyers.

OEM may not be OE, or even "OE spec." I'd research any budget product for compatibly. Same with glass etc.
LSPI is important, so I hope the "compliant" oil is the new spec.
Edit: it looks like Mobil1 ESP 0W-30 is LSPI compliant. Should it be 0W-40?
I quit changing my oil a couple years ago.

Just be careful about the oil you use, was the rest of my post.

Same with the filters. Hengst, Mann, Mahle, they will all perform fine. I'd stay away from Wix and Wix sub brands, but that's a personal choice. Yes, I know, Wix is owned by Mann, but Mann is not a Wix sub brand.
Let's not start the age old argument about Dealer only oil vs "regular" oil.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Everyone knows Olive oil is nowhere near as good as Coconut oil when it comes to both protecting the engine parts as well as the tire tread! n00b!

I agree -- I keep it simple and I use whatever carries MB's approval -- Castrol, Mobil1, Pennzoil, etc -- in the spec'd viscosity. Some swear by the superior quality of boutique oils such as Royal Purple or Redline. But if I'm going to pay a premium price, I want an approved premium product.

If you have an early 167 car, your spec sheet might not show the new spec.
Not all oil manufacturers list this spec correctly, or they didn't a couple of years ago.
Just make sure.
We got our maintaince package and extended warranty from an outside dealership (not who we bought our car with-they were RIPPING us a new one)
worked out well for us.
$375 is very fair for the A service from an MB dealer.

And you have to have ramps, and tools, and equipment, store oily drip pans etc., and you have to want to spend your time doing such things and I don't. Not trying to convince you that you should have the dealer do it, and you're not going to convince me I should spend my Saturday doing it...'cause I have no interest in doing so.

1. Taking away the car keys from an aging parent.
2. Preventing your kids from taking away your car keys.
I've been doing all my own car maintenance since I began driving. My kids and I agree that when I can't change my own oil, I'll surrender the car keys. That keeps me going.

Just kidding, but I've moved from a a nine-car garage to a two-car garage, don't have the ability to store ramps and 8 mounted tires, and I'd prefer to be On the Road with my car than futzing with it.
Saving $150 every 9 months isn't an issue.
I sold a roll-away tool chest, and I'm going to sell another, leaving me with only one.
These are personal choices, not indicative of poverty/wealth, mistrust of dealers, or inability to do the work, Even though my ASA and factory certifications have expired.
There are these torn rotator cuffs however...
