2024MY Refresh Software Compatibility 2022 MY GLS63
Hi guys
I sold my 22MY AMG GLS63 a year or so ago as it just didn’t feel AMG enough, especially the ride dynamics, I commented at the time that the X166 version felt more AMG like.
Anyway, I read that for the 2024 refresh the software was changed to improve the ride of them, so can that same software be programmed to the early 167’s or is the hardware/components used in the 24 different too, what changes were made and are they noticeable to make it feel more AMG.
I have a chance to re-purchase my old car back, so this software update would influence my decision a whole lot.

The 167 chassis is stronger and stiffer, providing a better platform for the suspension.
The result is a more supple suspension that improves traction, especially on rough roads.
If you want STIFF you can use Sport+, but it's still more supple than the 166.
It's finally a great suspension, especially if you get the active sway bars - AMG Ride Control (ARC).
Which also improves the ride quality.
German cars have been noteworthy for supple ride combined with excellent handling. Now that MB improved their chassis, their AMGs enter that class as well.
