Connecting Profiles?

Hi folks. I have a 2022 GLS 450 and I also use the iPhone Mercedes app to access the Digital Extras. Yesterday while browsing the iPhone app, it asked me to "connect my profiles", directing me to the profiles list in the MBUX in order to accomplish this. Of course I have two active profiles in the car - one for each driver, but when I go to the list in the MBUX, it does not give me the option to connect them so that they can be connected/synced. Can anyone tell me why not and if this problem can be solved? Do I need to delete the existing profiles and create new ones? Thanks for any advice.

I've been having an issue for the past week or so. The app prompts to "Please Connect Your Profiles." "You'll need to connect your app profile to the profile saved in the Multimedia System in your vehicle."

I only have one profile. And I've followed the instruction to sync but doesn't seem to work.

Are you in the US or outside the US? Exporting the car outside the US could be problematic for reaching the profile.

OK folks. I've messed around with this a little bit more and got it to work. Basically, the profiles that were already in my MBUX would not synchronize, and there was no way to kick off the synchronization. However, when I added another new profile, the synchronization kicked right off, and that profile ended up with a little Mercedes me symbol next to it. So, I think this might only work for new profiles that you add.

My higher level question about all this however it is what does profile synchronization do? Does it synchronize them with a different vehicle? That doesn't seem to make any sense. What exactly is it synchronizing and what functionality comes along with it? That is still a mystery to me. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks again to all.

Honestly, just a waste of time and another password you'll forget in 6 months when the app resets itself. Goes in the bucket of either you owning your stuff, or your stuff owning you. Several of us had different profiles set up initially, then one day some OTA update seemed to have screwed them all up. Many of us just defaulted to the memory seat button on the door for different driver settings and moved on from it.

Yes. In theory the profiles allow you to 1) Make changes to your stuff in the app (might be easier to make changes in the app rthan than while sitting in the vehicle) and 2)Have certain profile things (like station presets) go from car-to-car.

That said, some people have reported that their ability to edit profiles or see them in the app has gone away (right now mine says I need to connect them even though they were setup in the app years ago) so the status of current support is questionable.
