Remote Start Inhibit?

Hi folks. I've been trying the remote start feature on my 2022 GLS 450 and have a question. I have not been able to get it to start while parked in the garage (with the door open!), but when parked outside it starts remotely using the Mercedes iPhone app just fine.

Is there some sort of interlock, perhaps using the cameras, to inhibit remote start when parked inside?

Is it possible that the cellular signal is not strong enough for the car to get the command to start?

No, there's not. All the conditions that have to be met for remote start are listed in the app, and if one isn't met, the app doesn't even allow you to remote start. You are giving the system too much credit that it could recognize the location it's parked in. As said above, the most likely reason is that the cellular signal is too weak in your garage and the system fails to communicate with your car.
