2020 GLS580
I have a 2020 GLS580 and have been waiting on 2027 to replace it. Anyone know when order guide will be out? Anyone know when a presumed 63 will be released?

Wife is impatient for her new car and says "I'm fine with a 2025. By time an ordered car is here it will be November." Am I nuts to get her a 2025?

Well, there is the depreciation issue. Car is already 1 year older, or 2 if counting model year 2027 especially that being the second facelift so newisher model. That said, if you are getting a very good deal, it might make sense.

If I do get a 2026 then I will shoot for 15% off MSRP. I saw a youtube broker get 13% off a 2026 GLE.

The grills!
It seems like everybody's building big grills. Every year they get bigger.

I'm trying to figure out what year has the "least unattractive" grill, since I'm considering a new car.

I think my wife will like the 2026 interior much better. As for deals..... told my local dealership I wanted 14% off a car (2026 GLS 450 ) I'm looking at and they didn't say no. Still deciding.

Just a FYI --- Was offered $10,500 off a $105K 2026 GLS. Had to finance through the dealership. At $15k I probably would have pulled the trigger.

Yeah but for the same price if you can get even 8-10% for the 2027 u get in a truly new car with much better tech. I would go with facelift if u can digest the new front.
2026 technology nowadays? Naah am not driven by a budget to get into a 6-7 year old tech. Honestly, driving a new car in 2026 without phone as a key alone is just stupid to me. Am so upset that left so many models behind in the 2020-2026 era over the years… Even wireless carplay did not make it until 2024 on a car like GLS? And still 2024-2026 for many other models and sedan without phone as key, nor highway advanced hands-free driving and loads of other tech options that are becoming common? That sucks.

Right now brokers are offering 10.5% off of 2026s, so thats probably the best you're going to do. Remember too they are suggesting the 27 will have a 5% price bump I heard somewhere, so there is real savings going with a 26. Honestly like I said before I would rather have the 26, the new front is over the top and the whole screen dash doesn't appeal to me. Tech is just fine in the 26 IMO.

Agreed. Also keep in mind that the dealers are far more reluctant to give good discounts on just released/revised models. Back in summer of 23 all I was able to get was 2K discount on my newly facelifted 2024 GLS while the same car now goes for 12K below MSRP. The new tech seems exciting (and I am a techie type) but not sure it would be worth the $10K less discount plus $5-8K higher MSRP for a car that is essentially/mechanically the same.

PS: I should add I never truly enjoyed my 2024 GLS and couldn't wait to get rid of it as I got one of the first facelifted ones that rolled out of the factory and it had terrible built quality with various cabin noises, namely a noise from a loose hatch gate lock assembly (which took 3-4 dealer visits and 2-3 weeks of car being parked there to sort out) and ongoing spring noises from the 2nd row seats which were actually never fixed and even got worse after one of my multiple dealer visits. Lesson learned the hard way was to never rush to get a newly revised model and wait a year or so for it to mature a bit.

Bummer your GLS was a disappointment

Personally I like the last year of a refresh, my 2020 560 was great

wife and i were going to pull the trigger on a 26, but the deals are not great.

We checked within 1000 miles for something on the lot and since we are spending $100k+, wanted to be right.

Found one in Louisiana (10 hours each way driving) that was nearly perfect but the dealer was coming down like $6k on a $107k MSRP 2026. Seems most are at $6-6.5k on a 26 since they know we want specific equipment. I got a better discount ordering a new GLC back in the day.

Pretty much gave up on the 26 route... seems what we want is hard to find and would rather pay more to get it since the plan is to keep it for 7-8 years/100k miles.

I offered $105k OTD on this one to come fly and get it, and they said no... we were $2500 apart. I could have come around but the dealer was being a douchebag and mansplaining the deal to me.

Just use a broker, 10% off deals are definitely out there and achievable. Some dealers won’t go there but those dealers are going to be even harder to deal with in a 27.
