The official OEM part number for the Mercedes-Benz M256 engine oil pan drain plug crush washer is 007603-014106. Because the M256 is the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine used across various modern Mercedes models (including your GLS 450, GLE 450, E 450, and S 500), it uses the exact same hardware configuration.

I ran an oil analysis not too long ago at 93k on mine, always used MB spec at 5w30, the internals of the engine were utterly flawless, other than starting to show signs of increased viscosity at 6,300 miles, which tells me to not stretch it much past 6k miles for oil changes regardless of brand type or manual recommendations (10k).
Just sole personal experience, nothing more nothing less. I've always used M1 in all of my cars for the last 25 years, never once had an issue in any of them. Even on the GTI's (4 of them) which were all tuned and "enjoyed" (but not abused).

M176 and M177 has the metal drain plug with gasket. Gasket part# 007603014106. Size 14mmx20mmx1.5mm
M256 has the plastic drain plug.
I would not rely on Google AI. Just yesterday I saw someone post torque specs they got from Google AI and one or two were not correct for the specific submodel they were looking for.
If the engine has a dipstick then the oil can be suctioned out. Engines without dipstick tubes and AMG engines should be drained. From reading thru numerous maintenance manuals it appears the reason MB "recommends" suction over draining is efficiency. Either way is acceptable if both options are available to you. I have the M272 engine and usually prefer draining the oil from below even though the oil filter is located right up top. This gives me the chance to inspect everything while under the car. Last year I found one of the cv axle boots torn so im glad I did drain the oil that time.
In earlier model manuals MB doesnt even mention efficiency and just lists both options.

I have seen people claim the oil has to be suctioned out and if you dont you are doing it wrong, which is also not true.
Have to read the manuals. My M272 engine has both procedures.

I like the pump because its small and can store it away up on a shelf.
I stick the tube all the way down to the bottom of the oil pan. I drilled a hole thru a rubber stopper and have it on the tube so it seals it off at the top of the dipstick.
