Hello there everyone,
I just got a reply back from AMS on the group buy-
these are the terms:
the orginal price $1200
3+ $50 off
6+ $100
I don't know if that's a good deal for a group buy or not, but let me know asap if you interested.

I was talking to one of the AMS sponsor shop in taxes and they said it should be fine if you have upgraded cats 200 cell. They're shortys so they won't mess with that O2 sensor

Technically, these headers don't have a C.A.R.B number so they are not California Street legal. During a California "Test Only" smog test, the technician is supposed to inspect all the smog equipment, then run the sniffer test (you will pass the sniffer test with these headers). But the chances of the inspector removing the air box or raise the car just to inspect the headers (unless you tell them you put headers on, they wouldn't even know what to look for) are very slim.

Many of our customers are CA guys and not a single one has ever said they have had issues with CARB & etc b/c the headers are quite stealthy aren't nearly as obvious as long tubes (which delete the primaries of course).
Install time ranges from 3-6 hours depending on the shop you choose. Book rate is 6 hours but a certified MB tech could easily install them in half that time (if not less) so it just depends on whether the shop goes by actual labor or book rate. Shop around for the lowest labor rate. They are direct bolt on with zero welding required and do not affect OEM emissions equipment at all, no CEL.
AMS will be stopping all promotions/discounts and group buys before the summer is over so this could very well be the last group buy opportunity before prices become 100% firm.
Hope that helps,

Our prices are firm, They are already the lowest price on the market. Prices are non-negotiable. And soon these discounts will be gone so technically they will get more expensive. This is your last chance to get them at these prices.
Thanks,

AMS,
Now that I'm in the group buy, I plan on collecting other exhaust components so I can have everything installed at once . What I want to get is high flow second cats (300 Cell Metal Core, I'm getting this for sure), a muffler, and possibly high flow primaries (you think this is necessary/possible; I don't want a CEL or fail California smog sniffer tests).
I have a few questions (Note: I have a 2004 CLK500):
1. Where do you recommend I buy the High Flow second cats?
2. What is the inlet/outlet size of the second cats?
3. What is the inlet/outlet size of the Muffler?
4. You've said that you are going to stop producing these headers (M113) in order to develop for the next gen Mercedes engines. Does this apply to the pulley as well?
5. Would changing the primary cats to high flow make a big difference? If so, then same questions 1 and 2 above, but just for the primaries now.
Thank you for your time,

Sorry been MIA, I am also considering the pulley,
So, I say let get this buy moving......
Yo- AMS,
what would my hp gain with your headers and pulley?

The gains are actually greater below 3700 but unfortunately b/c tests were done on an older 55AMG, it could not be put into true dyno mode so the transmission would try and shift during the dyno runs. The largest gains are between 2000-3500rpm as this is where the largest torque gains occur.
Hope that helps,

1) Ebay has 300-cell metal core high flow cats, they are roughly $85 shipped each (you will need two).
2) 2.5" inlet/outlet is the closest size to OEM for the secondary cats (x2)
3) 2.5" would be the easiest size to use and is the most common size
4) Yes, most likely by Dec 31st, 2010 M113 headers will be stopped so roughly 6 months left, no pulley will continue of course
5) Again primaries are tough to do right, it is recommended to do the headers + secondaries and leave primaries & OEM emissions equipment alone, this route will never cause any CEL issues whatsoever.
Hope that helps,

Hey AMS! I just bought your Stage 2 package. That was my b-day present to myself. What an unbelievable price at $1499 with free domestic shipping. I already purchased the 300 cell high-flow (2.5/2.5") cats like you said, EVOsport underdrive accessory pullies (like you told me would work perfect), and a CF front lip from Gary (I can't give you credit for this one, sorry ) so I'm going to try to have them all installed at the same time (hopefully). It will be like getting a new car when I'm done! Upgrades make me so happy I could cry .
