Here's the solution to your problem. A bona-fide W140 rear sun shade kit. Everything you need to install a sun shade (aka rear roller blind) in a W140-chassis car is here.

You get the roller blind itself, which I've cleaned and lubed for smooth operation and no binding. A new in the bag wiring harness, a brand new switch, the special rear hat shelf for roller-blind installation, a new matching first aid kit box, and matching speaker grilles, all less than 1 year old. The roller blind itself is the only used part, and as I noted, I've serviced it so it should be good to go for years to come. I've even included a wiring diagram with notations as to where in the front fuse box to get power, where to mount the switch, get panel illumination, etc.

Note this is not for cars with reclining rear seats and electrically retractable/extendable headrests, or for cars with (lucky) 4 position seating, although cars so-equipped tend to have the roller-blind installed already.

Installation is easy - a solid 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. If you're comfortable rooting around behind the panels and seats of your W140, you can install this kit in an afternoon with no cutting or splicing of wires required.

The holes to mount the blind are already present under the hat shelf on every W140 that rolled off the line at MB.

I'm listing it here before I post it on eBay. I'd like to get $350 for the kit plus $30 shipping to the continental US. Total value of the parts here, even with the blind purchased used is nearly $900.
