2005 C55 ///AMG
W203 C55 AMG Instrument Cluster.

I am selling the Instrument Cluster from my C55 AMG. I am selling due to buying a replacement cluster in KPH, as I am exporting my car to Australia.

It is in full working condition and has 49003 miles on it I think. It is somewhere around that anyway, I did not make a note of what exaclty it was when I unplugged it.

All Lamps etc are in fill working order, and there are no scratches etc to the face. As far as I know it is a straight swap in any W203 car. If you have any extra questions just drop me a PM as I know a fair bit about swapping these over, as I have read heaps latley.

There are two ways you can get this up and running in your car, and this 100% works as I have just done it.

1. Have a mileage correction service Zero the cluster, install it and take it to MB or any Indy and they will be able to Sync it with your car using STAR, as it has under 250 miles(I think 250 miles is the thresh hold for re-syncing. Might be less, but it will work fine set to 0 and then driving it to the dealer. That is unless the dealer is for than 250 miles away!) on it. It will then pick up the mileage your car had originally, and job done!

2. 2nd way is to have a mileage correction service set it to exactly the same as the miles on the cluster you are removing, then you can simply plug and play. Nothing further needs to be done.

I am after $550 for this, as its what I paid for my Kph cluster. I am in UK but am happy to ship to the US or Cananda.

If you need any further info, just drop me a PM.

Terry

from what i heard on this forums and few other people is that once a cluster has more than 1k miles on it, it can not be used in another car.

Wish I knew this before you bought it....

Last July (2011) I bought a 2005 C55 in Toronto, CA and it has the KPH speedometer. I imported it into the USA and love it. The only problem trying to stay within speed limits (very hard) is the MPH digital display in the center of the cluster. It shows fine at night but during the day it is imppossible to read, especially with UV sunglasses on.

If anyone else out there is considering trading a speedo face or cluster
KPH for a MPH unit, please contact me.

Mine now reads in MPH

And it has the exact correct mileage without having to go to a stealer to have it done. In fact it is my original cluster that now reads out in MPH and not what it was, KPH!
I bought a used MPH cluster and took them both apart and switched the speedo faces out...the MPH into the KPH, and the KPH into the MPH unit.
So easy to do, just go slowly and be careful. I now have the VDO/Siemens part numbers for both faces if anyone wants them and go buy your own from a VDO dealer....if they will sell it!

My old KPH cluster is now for sale for what I paid for the MPH one, $275USD. and comes with instructions on how to install it.
