it's a really easy install, only thing is if you are upgrading from the clam shell the harness' aren't the same and you throw an SOS error

Thanks Crafty. Am trying to remove a broken armrest with similar design, sliding cover. Don't have a clam shell. Want to see if I can fix it easily.

I can't seem to find the screw points, so was wondering if anyone had instructions on how to remove/install. Or at least pointers on how to get to the appropriate screws.

Thanks.

the whole ash tray assemble has to come out, there are 2 screws under there...

and then when you open the actual arm rest, remove the cup holders and remove the bottom lining of the arm rest and there is more under there i can't remember how many are under there though

Thanks again Crafty. Sorry to be such a noob!!

It's an '08 E350. Can't seem to pull out the ash tray assembly without some force, so am not sure if that's right.

cup holders removed. suggestions to remove bottom lining? this should be a relatively simply procedure, as long as you know the exact process which is the trick.

cheers.

turn the key to accessories mode, then pull the shifter all the way back. open the ash tray compartment and pull up on the shifter bezel and it'll disconnect from the front, pull it forward to remove the clips from the rear. once that is out of the way you should be able to just slide the whole ash tray out

what up mikey long time no talk. if you have someone that has the bigger obd2 readers they can clear the code, or if you have access to a star reader you can do the same.

GL fellas!

I found it difficult to release the rear of the console until I found the clips that needed to be pushed in. I've attached a couple photos of the clips and screwdriver used to depress them.
