SL55 vs FCA

There was a Ferrari Club drive this morningI brought the SL55. I had been telling the guys how good it is and they just nodded..........."yeah, right".

They had virtually no chance trying to pass traffic as quickly as I could on 2 lane highways and when we got to a barron stretch of twisties that runs for 12 miles............I never saw them again and when they arrived at the restaurant, I already had drinks and made my food order. The looks on their faces were priceless...........absolute disbelief. The main comment was...."There was no possible way that we could keep up"!

Lunch was on them!!

btw the way...the cars involved were a gaggle of Maranello's, 360's, and 348s

Were the Ferraris stock? If so, it shouldn't have been much of a race for your modded SL55 (unless there was an Enzo, F50, or 430 in the mix!). Probably the Maranelo (550 or 575?) gave you the best race?

Actually, I see that you have an F40 (lucky beastard!). How does your SL55 compare in a straight line?

Check out a twin turbo 355 Spider (high 10 sec. quarter) for a good race! There is a killer video on FerrariForum.com (search "Turbo")

With the cars that were there........there really was no race...I was just gone!

The SL 'feels' very similar to the F40 in a straight line. The F40 is way more dramatic. You really feel attatched to the F40. I think over a given stretch of road I would be quicker in the F40. The March Indycar has the best track times!
