C230K Coupe killed by Corvette
Tonight, on my way from Fairfax to Washington DC, I was at a traffic light with a new Covette convertible on my left, and a Honda CR-V on my right. I needed to get to the right lane which takes you to Rt.66.
I was with my wife, and the guy in the 'Vette was all by himself. So the light turns green, I floor it to get ahead of the Honda (which I did easily, of course), but the guy in the 'Vette thought I was trying to race him and peeled off like a bat out of hell... He disappeared from sight sooner than I was able to shift to 4th... I laughed so hard, almost forgot to take that exit
All I was trying to do was to get ahead of that CR-V - wasn't even racing... I mean - I could have done much better, but the wife sure wouldn't have appreciated that

lol yeah i dont think the vette will have any problem with the coupe.

That's the point - I certainly knew that, but the guy thought I was actualy trying to race him ))
It was nice to see him nail gears like a clock, though - he knew what it takes to kill a Coupe

If it makes you feel any better, a couple weeks ago on the way to work a Vetter flew by me going about 100. Needless to say, I rose to the challenge, and after catching him and following him to the next stop sign, I repeatedly had him for breakfast. I wonder what he thought when he saw a CLK spin the tires passing him at the line!

Vadim, just like mach30, I hope this makes you fell better, a month or so ago i killed a Red Vette 2 or 3 times in a row, to the point where he wouldm't even look at me, he was pissed.

My Volvo S70 GLT Auto (also rated at 192HP) is way faster off the line (it's a turbo). The hilarious part was that the Vetter took it too seriously But this put me to some sort of deliberation: "now what?" I really like the look of the present CLK, but at the same time I also like the features of the W203 platform... but not the way the new CLK looks!!! 
What to do...
