WV Jetta kill

Last night I was driving on I45 south to Galveston, I'm driving my 96 Suburban (284 hp after a few mods, from 255 stock), wife, 3yr boy, 14 yr daughter and friend, lots of freaking luggage (as you can imagine with 2 teenagers and the wife),so truck is a little heavy, I'm doing my tipical 75 mph and this guy on a WV Jetta pulls next to me and starts playing games of slow-fast, I decide to punch it, he notices immediately (thanks to flowmasters), we go from 75 to about 110 mph, I'm ahead of the guy for about a car, by this time my wife asks me if I'm playing with the guy (she's cool about speed, as long as there is no traffic), I told her -"no, I'm givving this guy a lesson, he shouldn't mess with me", at this time he finally gives up (realizing he can't keep up, with big, heavy, slow, old Suburban, supposed to cut off at 98 mph), I kept on the gas to about 115 and held there for a minute, to get away from the guy.
MB related, I wish I would've had the E55 to really kick this guys a$$. I'm also thankful that was not a TDI, or VR, or the story would've been different.

Actually, all he would have needed was a chip to remove the built in 115 mph limit in VWs.

(Former owner of HOR/Bilstein, Autotech Q-chipped, Quaife-modified, w/Brembo-Ferodo brake upgraded `94 Jetta)

Cute. . .

I'm not saying there was anything special about my, or anyone else's Jetta, but it's curious that you brag about beating a car by driving a couple of miles an hour faster than the opponent's factory-set speed governor.

This whole thread/topic is silly, since most highway "kills" are determined by who's willing to push things past all sense of reason with loaded cars, other traffic, and too many variables to make any sense.

A true "kill" would be if you bested your opponent on a race track. And since we're not talking MB funny cars, it would have to be a road course. . .Imagine that, rights and lefts!

Funny you mention, 15.61 @ 84 mph, not too bad for just over 5000 lbs

My question is this;

Why would a Jetta driver decide to taunt a Suburban? Maybe he was retarded or nearsighted?
