Modifications to the SL55 AMG was:
"The Mercedes is tuned with different wheel in on the compressor and revs a bit more than standard. Also if I should beleive a post from the owner the catalysts are gone and other filters. Had been dynoed to 560 HP according to one earlier post, but that should be taken with a grain of salt. So different compressor internals "so the compressor works a bit harder" and ECU that is. "When the speedometerneedle is in hte bottom at 330 km/h it is still accelerating . Have witnessed acceleration still at 310 km/h via a Garmin GPS."
Do you want to guess the result

Whatever keys I grab first...
Dude, get over it...
Gustav,
Get the f**k over it, dude. The new M5-- alright, its fast, point taken, stop trolling around here with your BM vs. MB threads and posts, it's getting far too annoying.
At first, I didn't mind, but seriously, no one cares anymore-- that should be obvious by the lack of attention your thread recieves man. Honest to god, I cant stroll through a forum without seeing something from yours trying to prove your stupid point, over and over and over.
Give it a rest man...
What've you to prove by this video? Or many of the other threads you've started? BM is better than Mercedes? Do you suddenly expect, just because this video, the whole lot of SL owners to go buy a BM-- get real.
I don't recall anyone trolling around the BM forums when the new E55 came out, insulting each and every BM around-- but rest assured, when the new E63 comes out, I'll be the first to rub it in each and every BM owners face, yours first.
This is a ridiculous battle, nothing more.
And don't try to say this is "just so members can watch", because thats bull****. You're trying to put down Mercedes owners, over and over, indirectly saying:
"Aha! Not even a modded Benz can take on the new BM! BOW TO ME!"
STFU god damn it... it's really annoying.
Or maybe I'm the only one getting tired of this BM vs. MB war, and BM owners constantly trolling around here with our ever-so-attentive mods allowing them to do so.

Given that gustav is putting this up, and that its on m5board, i'd say those propeller worshipers are stroking their own egos again. I'd put my money on the M6. If you wanna put their best against our best tho, you gotta put the M6 against the SL65.

The E55 and M5 tie until triple digits, as proven by a video floating around somewhere here.
The M6 beats the M5 but a car length or two, at most.
The SL55 and E55 tie.
The SL55 against the M5, would show same results, both vehicles tieing until triple digits, or perhaps even past considering the SL has better aero than the E-Class.
Now, you mean to tell me that a MODDED SL55, cannot overtake a M6?
![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
If that video shows otherwise, it would clearly be rigged.
A stock SL55 vs. a stock M6 would be a good race-- a modded SL should out-run the M6, end of story.

E55 drag coeff = .28
SL55 drag coeff=.30

And you're also assuming that the mods done to the SL are enough to overcome the MORE than one car lead that the M6 should get on the SL due to the SL's higher drag coefficient, thats something that you can leave up in the air. My point is, Gustav would not post this video unless it was to start something because he wants to feel reeeeeealy good about owning an M5.

Objectively speaking, I highly doubt a sedan has better drag than roadster.

E-class
"The four-headlight theme introduced on the previous E-Class, now the standard at Mercedes, has been refined in the new car. The new front end is lower and is more steeply raked. The design produces a class-leading 0.27 coefficient of drag (minimizing wind noise and maximizing fuel economy), but the E55 AMG offers slightly more drag, if you can call 0.28 drag, with its extra body add-ons."

And guess what, the E55 WAGON has the same drag coefficient!

The torque is about the same, the E's is lightly lower than the SL's by 100RPMS
SL
493 HP
4235 lbs.
Thus: 232.82 HP per Ton
E
469 HP
3990 lbs.
Thus: 235.087 HP per Ton
Add in the E's better drag coefficient, and it seems that the E actually quicker. Either way, the M6 IS going to win this race. Otherwise, Gustav would have deleted the video.
