Killed a C240
I know all of you will give me flack, but I'll take it. You AMG owners can't have all the fun 
Pulling up next to the 240 at a light, where the lanes merge after a quarter mile or so... Guy and his girlfriend glance over while waiting for the light to change. Suddenly I hear him revving the engine while looking over, and he punches it as the light changes. I was thinking "wha?", so I punch it too. Not only did I immediately erase his advantage, I pulled away from him as if he had an anchor dragging in the pavement. He must have been 20 car lengths behind as I slowed down to make my turnoff. And then he did the ricer flyby as I made the turn. What a loon.
You all know an E430 is no fast car, but obviously it could be worse. :p

I killed one of those slow *** things in my 95 C 280 once (don't get me wrong, I don't think my car is fast or anything and I don't do this often). It was funny cause it was kinda the same situation: pull up next to a guy and his wife, he looks at me, we both punch it, you know the rest. I think the funniest thing was that we were on the road that goes right by the Benz dealer in Midland and I think he went right there after I smoked his *** to trade his car in. "I got smoked by a ten year old C-class, what the **** is this ****!?"

no offense intended...but who brags about killing a C240...I guess the more appropriate question...who in a C240 challenges anyone to a race?
ok ok...so I was guilty of it against an IS300 once (I might add I won), but I would definitley not challenge a 430 anything.

Compared to most other Mercedes yes the C240 and C230 are slow. but if you compare them to other cars made today they are quick little things. I bet the C240 and C230 could kill at least 80% or more of the cars on the road. On a short search i could only find data from an 01 C320 and an 02 C230, and the C230 is only two tenths of a second behind in the 1/4mile.

Oh good grief, lets not start arguing about which snail is faster. This horse has been beaten dead on this forum. The C240 WILL beat a C230K at higher speeds, and the C230K will win at lower speeds, but BOTH Will loose to this beast
As for the 240 winning at higher speeds, it happens because the supercharger which 230K owners run back to as incontroverable proof that their car is superior is unfortunately bolted on top of 1, 2, 3, 4 cylinders, so the car runs out of steam past 80ish.
