Taking out the trash.
Well about 2 nights ago, I was coming back from Brooklyn via the pulaski bridge, and then the queensboro into manhattan. When I got off the pulaski a VW jetta wagon TDI pulls up along side of me, looks at me and starts inching at the red light. Now I have a full load in the back of shopping goods, and I am just not in a caring mood nor do I want to waste gas. He blasts off, and at my own pace I catch him on the next light. Then we both get on the queensboro, I am in the right lane while hes in the left stuck behind a slow car. I pull away slowly ( normal speed ), and I see him jump out from behind the slow car, flooring it towards me. So im thinking okay bozo you asked for it. As hes full blasting towards me I get ready, and the second hes along side, I drop the hammer on him, instantly I match his speed, and pull 6 car lengths in a matter of seconds. I notice that he lets off, and just stays far behind, not pulling along side due to his crushed ego. People, when are they going to learn what AMG is...

lol those TDIs are slow on the freeways. my Ml320 walked away from one i was follow a car that was going to slow in the fast lane the guy in the jetta moved over for a pass in the right lane, the guy that was in front of me moved over 2 lanes and got off. jetta boy tried to pass me on the right and that is a big no no. little gas from 70-90 he was near my passenger door when i hit it and when i hit 90 he was about 1/2 car back and losing ground fast.

TDI's are fun to squash.
They worship the CDI yet every now and then one of them messes with me. Open road or off the line, doesn't matter, they get clowned every time.
My theory is the Jetta drivers know they are way out of their league, but they heard about CDI's, and want to see how fast one is in real life.

I drive one of those 'slow' cars and I agree - it IS slow. With only 100 hp, why would anyone that drives one attempt to race anyone else (well maybe a 3-cyl Geo Metro !). I don't drive the TDI for power, I drive it for my commuter car because it gets 45+mpg on my daily trip of 140 miles.
The SLK55 - now that's the one that I drive for power. And soon it will hit that magic 1000 mile mark (the break in period) and I may have some stories of my own to post to this forum.

well, a passat 1.9 tdi 130/150 tried to take me on the inside on a 2 lane dual carriage way this morning. I was doing 60 and he swerved down the inside (not legal in the uk btw) and accelerated hard. I waited till he was 1 car length ahead and then unleashead the beast 
. It took him am a full minute to catch me up and then he kept a safe distance behind.
