E55 vs M5

I like to use a particular on ramp to the CA 73 toll road for both acceleration as well as practice on a nice S turn just about every day. Today, while waiting for the light a newer M5 pulls up a throws a rev or two. Thank God for daily practice, cause today it paid off.

I took him out of the hole, pulled about 2 lengths by 60, took the outside, braked to throw weight on the front as I entered the S, maintained the lead thru the apex and powered out the other side. By now he was 4-5 lengths, and I was on the way to a clear victory. That AMG challenge day sure gave me improved skills, and the confidence to play much harder on the turns.

Clean race, good fun. Now the question, I find a little lag when pulling out of a turn and applying hard acceleration. I would have been even faster at the end if this didn't happen. Anyone else experience this, and what might be reasons?

Newer, or brand new??? Either way, congrats on the kill. I wouldn't like trashing M3's and M5's so much if they didn't bring it on themselves. Since my blown '02 isn't anything like your 211, I can't answer your question on hesitation, but I would guess a trip to the Renntech store would solve any "hesitation" you might be feeling.

hmm do you use your left and right foot ? Left foot on break and right on gas...hit the break as you go into the turn but at the same time hit the gas but just enough to keep the rev up and to slow down a bit..as longest you throw/shift the car weigh to the front before the turn you will get a good momentum and once you know you dont need to apply breaks just let go and slam down the gas pedal...and since you already have the engine reved up you will come out of the turn pretty fast...ill try to tape a vid of me doing it so you can see waht i mean taking on and off ramps at 80mph

after 115+ he would win....

but get a pulley and chip and no worries.

i plan to own a e55 this year... it would be my 1st mod

Which on-ramp are you talking about? Sounds like it would be fun to try.

I love the 73, it's usually wide open and there are lots of nice cars around that will give you a run.
