SLK S7 vs 944 Turbo S
I was coming from from dinner & pull up to a guy & his babe at a stop light (both mid/early 30's?) He's got an immaculate 944 Turbo S & I'm thinkin', "He's not going to try any funny stuff". Boy, was I wrong. I guess he heard my Kleemann exhaust & nailed it at about 5 mph. I heard his turbo spool & he had a 1 car jump on me (and I left my ESP on ) Screw it, I nailed it & immediately pulled past him......he was like 10 cars back by 80 mph. Even with ESP engaged, this S7 is just NASTY .
I hope some new 265s F1 GDS3s will help when I get them with some Fikses this week (I kinda doubt it, but anything is better than these 245s - they are like bike tires with this torque ) I need traction!!
See ya,
-Matt

SL, thanks for the RX-7 comment - its also a fun car & I "think" as fast as the S7. It will certainly outhandle the SLK but its build quality is obviously inferior.

There are some pretty fast 944 turbos out there, with simple bolt-ons they can run 350-400 horsepower. I've seen some 951's running 500-600 hp as well and these cars weigh as much as a civic. Rennlist has a thriving 951 forum with lots of fast cars.

Nice kill. I'm envious. I need to see your car in action! In fact, I'd like to race you just to get an idea of what a S7 can do. Just don't kick up any pebbles. I already have enough rock chips.

Pal, your car would have also destroyed the 944 Turbo. Even stock these cars run 12.7 sec quarters - pretty sprite.
Dan, you should invest in some Clear Armour. I'm getting some for the SLK (its on my G35 & RX-7). The stuff works great & is virtually invisible. I think a typical install is like $1k (maybe less)? Its worth it to protect your paint - maybe look into it when you get the chance.
