Schooled a new Cayman

Coming back from the DMV to my office in T.O., I'm getting off the 23 to the 101 north and am closing on a new Cayman around the right hand sweeper. The guy sees me closing up pretty quick so he stands on it and closes the gap on traffic in front of him as we merge into the 101. As usual, no one wants to let you in, but he makes his own hole between cars and thinks he's gotten away because I'm stuck. Not a chance. The rolling road block in front of me pulls into the freeway behind him and gives me the next 1/2 mile of merge lane wide open. As I start to speed up to get in he nails it at almost exactly the same time I do. By the time I start to run out of road and have to merge, he's already at least 10 cars back. God I love this *****.

I think "Woman" destroyed a Cayman in her Cayenne Turbo S the other day.

Well, when it ran right, it would have been even worse.

Are you serious? So your saying A hps G2 E55 was faster than a Stock 06 E55 no offense meant but, I find that a little hard to believe.

I appreciate your honest opinion though thanks.

Pulled a stock '04 by at least 4-5 cars to about 100 mph from a stop, so yes, when it ran as it should, it was faster than a stock W211, no doubt about it. Unfortunately, it didn't always run like that.

Well I guess when your 02 G2 E55 was working it must've been a factory freak or somethin' because all the other guys I know of (about 3-4 of them) w/55 motor hps G2's They couldn't break past 330-rwhp.

This was before the newer tuning that you didn't have either, That netted Robert,(AMGscr?) 2006 C55 360-365 rwhp just recently (last couple of months) a far cry from Stock 03-06 E55 that easily fetch 400-425 rwhp

So once again I guess your 02 was factory FREAK! Cool....

Car pulled VERY strong when running correctly. I guess after 14 months of their tweaking, it should've run like that all the time. Anyway, at least it didn't stumble and have a POS trans like the new one.

Anything is possible on the street. My guess is that there was something not right with that 211.

No offense to anyone, but the handling on your MB is nowhere near to the Cayman's. It maybe a slow car when comparing to the MB's but it's the handling that makes Porsche so fun to drive.

Didn't try him through the twisties, nor would I. The Cayman should out handle almost anything, but he elected to put the pedal down with me getting on to the freeway, not through a road course.

As far as the '04 maybe not running right, I don't think so. I will be the last person to defend HPS, but I can say with absolute certainty, that my blown '02 was faster than my '06, when it ran right, which wasn't often enough. I know plenty of people who say they "cooked" dyno numbers, etc. etc., and I have no idea of the "honest" RWHP numbers the car made, but I can say that only 25-35 RWHP increase some people have gotten would not allow the car to melt the 285's through 3 gears, for almost a block. I guess we'll never know for sure, the car is history.

Nice Kill Brad. Too bad me and you never got to race our 210's. I think my next car will be a supercharged VF BMW 550i or an SL55. The license plate will say "no fat chicks"

I'm glad you apologized, that is great! Two gold stars for you. No giggy going on here just the old fashion American dream. Real Estate, owning your own company and steering clear of taxes. "Can I get an Amen"

Real Estate = What about it, do you actually own a home?

Owning your own company = Does one have to look on the Fortune 5 Trillion list to find your company?

Steering clear of taxes = changing addresses so the IRS doesn't know where to send the tax lien?

I'm not sure what your problem is, but I guess you are friends with certain people. I really have no problem with you at all, but you seem like a true hater. I can back my stories up with proof if needed, so don't worry about me. If you want to talk about this in person or on the phone please PM me your number, I would be more than happy to talk with you or group of you. I'm not one of those people that hide behind a computer and talk about how great I am and never add value and car advice to other members. I know about cars and love cars that's why I'm part of this forum. For others it's "Match.com" Which one are you?

I was with Brad when we saw the new Pewter SLK 55 and he can confirm I wanted one and wondered why they couldn't have that color when I was buying. You rule! You're new car is going to make you so happy. Can't wait to take your pic in it
