This is a real mystery to me. Conventional wisdom is that people with money generally give their children a better education than those with less resources, and thus less choice. However, we see frequent evidence of exactly the opposite on these forums.

Exactly. But 90% of the "rich" kids actually take the bus for their daily 8-5 grind at McDonalds

My life experience is - Rich parents have stupid kids. More money parents have - less brain their kids have, at least while they are still kids. It's easy - if you have money - you don't really need brains at the 0-23 age.
There are of course exeptions, but not a lot.

I don't think it's wealth per se. The wealthiest parents I know personally (total assets in excess of $100 M) have incredibly smart and personable kids. But those parents are also very engaged in their kids upbringing.

The dumbest kids that I know have parents (wealthy or otherwise) who just don't care and don't get involved.

Ditto that. It's all about discipline and what your parents teach you.

I think i'm an exception. But I know what you're talking about.

This is the best case; you can blame it on new money used in bad ways.

True, this is a car forum and we're all trying to have fun, but it's not fun if it's fiction.

Doctors can also behave like poorly educated people.

The truly wealthy (assets over 100M) all have very good and well behaved kids in my opinion. It's the ones who are "very wealthy" (between 10 to 99) who recently acquired their wealth who behave badly in my experience. Also, all of the people who I know who have assets in excess of 100M all don't have a single Mercedes in any of their garages, I don't think they have Ferraris or Rolls either.
