S500 welcomes new Impala SS to reality

I was on my way home from a late night movie with my Mrs. when at a traffic light we encountered a new Impala SS. This light is a stop before another about 2 blocks later. We rolled out and the guy in the Chevy nailed it. I forgot that I was in "comfort" and couldn't get the kick down fast enough...round one to the General by 3 lengths. We both stoped at the next light and I went to sport mode and went to sport II on the Airmatic. When the light went green I let it go. We jumped the Chevy by about 2 lengths (lots of front tire smoke) which grew to 6 before the 2~3 shift. This was a 5 mile stretch of open 6 lane so I let the S500 breath a bit. When I broke 120 the Impala was about 15 lengths back and then nosed over. He either hit his limiter or quit.

I cruised at about 65 for a few miles and we came to another light. The guy in the Chevy lowered his window and so did I. He said that he had out run a couple of S430's but I was his first S500. He admitted that once I knew it was coming that he was never in it.

Those cars run pretty good and with a few mods they might be a real sleeper. I think that there is a lot of potential with the Impala SS...lots of bang for the buck.

Too bad they are front wheel drive...they look nice.

Haha, nice kill!
A lot of people under estimate the power of the S class, it may be big but it still moves

BMW FTW
Impala SS have way to much power I have seen way to many old people with him just spinning the tires when trying to accelerate normally, I guess its a combo of front wheel drive and bad tires and to much power. But my friend has an impala and it is limited to 110mph.

Nice kill. The S500's are pretty quick and let me tell you, 140 in that car seems like a 100 in most other cars. I miss both the W220 S500's my family had. But this new S430 4Matic is an awesome car too. Pretty much stock except for some high flow air filters, but fairly quick nonetheless, and a very adept handler in the snow! And to think, people underestimate these cars on the street.

when drag racing leave the airmatic in comfort, u need the suspension to be soft for better weight transfer, it increases traction

nice kill
