Amigo's
This morning I had the pleasure of racing of neighbor of mine for 4 miles ¡V we performed various races, 0-60 off the line drags, roll on at various speeds
I am pleased to say the CLK 55 was victorious ¡V the weather was 61 degrees and sunny. We started with the off the line runs ¡V I tried one with ESP active - that run was close, I won by half a car length. Then we tried it again with the ESP off ¡V (as we say in NYC) Spanked his *** ¡V the M3 had nothing for me ¡V I held my brake while pressing the gas to 2000 rpm and release ¡V what a hell of a launch.

Lastly we tired various roll on speeds ¡V First we tried 40 ¡V 100mph ¡V they were neck and neck until 90mph then the Beast (AMG) started to pull away (like I know she can).. Then we performed a roll on from 80 ¡V 150mph, again neck and neck until 120 or 130 when the AMG started to pull again. Mind you I have no mods on my BEAST on a K&N air filter and a BIG SMILE. My neighbor could not believe the results, I told him I felt the AMG would beat the M3 ¡V Having raced my brothers 02 M5 I knew the M3 had nothing for daddy ƒº - My brother and I race almost weekly and to date there is no clear winner ¡V both cars are evenly matched ¡V despite what you may hear, most of the hype regarding the Mpower is just that, HYPE ¡V not get me wrong, there GREAT cars and very fast, I feel (from driving and owning various bimmers) the have better handling dynamics then the AMG but linear performance the AMG is hard to beat. At the M5 forums there are many stories of victories against various AMG models ¡V But the CLK55 is another story ¡V having raced the M5 as often as I do I know the truth and the truth shall be known. //AMG is n *** kicker no more words need to be said.

Uhhh....
Does your brother know how to shift? Not to slam on you or your brother but I highly doubt a CLK55 AMG could take a current M5! Maybe it could take it to 60 or possibly to 100 but after that your *** gets owned by that thing. Those cars are known for being very fast in the triple digits!

HELLO
amgboy -
My brother And Both switched cars and performed the same races over and over again - there are dead matched - I drove his M5 like I stole it against the CLK55 and still the results are the same - hard to believe I know but the truth is just that the truth - I'll race any M5 any day and the results will be the same - Maybe it me, but I drive my //AMG hard as hell with no rest - I beat the **** out of it daily. My brother And I use to race our 00 996 daily and attened various driving schools - so to answer your question - YES he does know how to shift and drive

I have to concur, and doubt it will win in the lower end as well, especially with the difference between manual and automatic. I have driven, extensively, a CLK55 as a friend has one, and this was a topic of discussion early on, but both of us appreciate each others cars for what they are - and frankly, the CLK55 doesn't match the beat.

just an interesting side note...
One car that is currently putting the fear of God into M5 racers is the new SL55 AMG.
More so because that same V8 Kompressor will be in the new E55, albeit with 476 or 469hp.

Absolutely. And then a V10 M5 emerges, and then another X55, and so on and so forth the horsepower wars go. I'm enjoying this!

Note, the SL55 is faster than the E55. The SL55 uses a 493HP engine. The E55 uses the 476HP engine. Supposedly, that's enough to make a 0.2 second difference in 0-100km/h, and about a 2 second difference in 0-200km/h.
