997S v. E36 m3
(very surprised) , i said "yeah". light turns green, i take off normally, his front bumper is at halfway point on my right door. i hear his engine at WOT, i wait a tiny bit and go WOT, through 1st we were pretty close, i shift (i can shift pretty fast) at exactly 7k, chirp as 2nd hits home (dunno how it chirped, that engine gives great traction), he's about 3/4 back now, top of 2nd and i begin pulling hard, 7k, hit 3rd, hes about 4 cars back, 7k, 4th gear im really pulling now, at about 120 i was about 8 cars ahead.
i threw up a peace sign through the sunroof, made a right, he followed but got on the freeway right away.
his car had exhaust and was lowered, might have had some other ****

When did the E36 first come out stateside, 1997? 1998- and 9 years later it still gets posted in a kill story. If I was the E36 owner Id take that as a compliment losing to a 997 Carrera.

and I don't know if any of you know this
I belive it was in 1997, that E36 m3 was tested to be world's best handeling car at that time
better than porsches and ferrari, and many more
1st they **** up the new m5 by putting smg in it (w/ stick n/a), then they fix that by putting a stick in it but **** it up by not letting you fully disable dsc. what the **** is the world coming to?
i was really considering a stick m5 too, after it was confirmed that dsc wasnt defeateble i didnt even bother test driving it
as long as the driver is a car dude and cool
in the twisties though is another story
