My First REAL kill.
Well guys, I've finnaly got some aftermarket parts on my car. I was leaving my girl friends house and i get on to the gcp and all of a sudden a white evo flies by me so being that i found a real compition to test my car against i turn my valentine on to all bogies mode and gun it ::my car has a carbon fiber ram air intake, and renntech ecu:: and this guy was driving like an idiot on the gcp he settles down and i go up next to him and i guess he wanted to pull me, no words were exhanged but he guns it and i gun it after him. my car squats and down shifts from 4th in to 3rd and scince he got the early lead he's 2 cars ahead and he can tell i was after him so he keeps at it. He was really revving it in to the high rpms, I'm closing the gap as i hit my peak power and its now a half a car lead and my car shifts in to fourth at 110mph and just shoots to 115 and i pass him and just start a slow walk up to 135. when i realized i'm about to pass my exit i slow down and get off. I couldent BELIEVE i pulled a EVO with my e320. It just amazed me. I dont know if he wasn't gunning it or what but it really sounded like it. So this is my First offical kill. It was 2:30am so no small childeren in mini vans. If i saw any traffic i would slowed down but it was just straight roads with no cars.

dude, the guy in the EVO was toying with u... i guarantee it...not here to start a flame war but ur car wll not keep up with an STi or EVO. just telling u from expierence. but atleast u got u see how ur car performed with ur upgrades...good luck and be safe...

well guys thanks for the feed back i truely doubed i could hang with an evo, but hey maybe the guy was an idiot and couildent drive. I mean any time anyone pulls up and tries to pass me and its open high way moving at 90+ i'm gunning it.well guys thanks for the feedback

I think he was fooling with you because even with your upgrades, he should have smoked you pretty bad. I think the top speed on your car is 130 not sure with an ECU though....the EVO tops out at 155-160 mph. Even if your intake and ECU knocked a full second off of your best stock 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, you would still lose to the EVO by a second at least.

ML320, Looking for my S4
its all very true. but the top speed on mine is a little bit diffrent from other e320's. When i bought the car the trany was replaced with a 5speed. I dont know why or anything about it. I have saftly takin it up to 165 at jones beach in the dead of winter, and looking back at it i coulda killed my self if a deer jumped out. But anyway i have managed some good times with my car. my personal best was a mid 6 second 0-60. i timed it with a video camra so its real i guess.

well i'm not sure. They say that in the winter your speedo is a bit off so maybe my car was ****ing with me. But hey it was past the 160 mark and my girl friend saw it. thank god i didnt kill my self when i was younger.

Speaking from my experience of owning an EVO 8 MR, there's no way your E320 can pull away from him, the only chance you can do that is if the 4G63 was running on 3 cyl.

well i guess i threw caution to the wind and did i video. to find out my speeds. 60 in 6 seconds flat and 0-100 in 14 seconds 0- 110 in 18. i pulled it up to 140 at jones beach. slowed down because my tires are only rated up to 130 so i dident want to have a blow out and die. heres a pic of 135. my girl couldent hold the camra for her life but after all she did have to do some crazy reach and i was going 135.

That reminds of a thread a while back where a member raced an EVO in his W215 CL500. He reported pulling away from it at top end, where the car is said to lose steam. They still launch aggressively.

Correction, it was an STi he raced, which is similar in design (performance-wise) to an EVO.

I used to own a 98 E320 and im telling you, it would get it. All stock and i had it to 145. I have c32 now and its suppose to quit at 155 but i had it to 161 like it was nothing. Was going to take it all the way but ran into traffic.
