C32 vs E46 M3
This is a race that many of us, C32 owners wanted to hear, and here it comes.
My C32, purchased in April which has 4600 miles and oil changed last Thursday. My buddy's M3 (Stick 6 speed) purchased 6 weeks ago which has 5600 miles and oil changed last weekend. The condition of both cars are nearly identical. Both gas tanks are near half full, with no passergers.
We both drove off onto Fullerton and 5 more friends were following behind us in an ML430 (3 are racing fans). Anyway, I lowered my window asking my friend to slow down so we can do a rolling start at 30 mph. We were side by side. I asked him to hit it first. As I heard him down shifted followed by his engine screaming, I punched it. To my suprise, I passed him fairly easily and lead him by 4 cars to 100 mph. We wanted to do it again on Pathfinder Rd, and he screamed to me that my car is super fast. We waited until all the cars cleared the road and we proceeded to line up side by side going at 30 mph again. This time, I asked him to count to 3 so we can hit it together. For those of you that knows the area, Pathfinder is a wide open road with few cars around (the section between Fullerton Rd and Nogalas). He down shifted to second gear (later told me) and then counted to 3. He punched it first because I though he was going to say "go." I heard his engine, then I punched it. Again, my car just walked away from him, and I led by 5 cars up to 120 mph and slowed down when a van was in front of us. We both slowed down and went inside a deadend street so we can let the cars cool off and talk about the race. We never talked **** about eachother's car, and it feels damn good to be the winner of this friendly race. AMG rules!!!

wow...awesome race. however..if you went through the twisties, i'd believe the M3 would have won. My friend's M3, which i drove on many occasions, is quite fast, and steering is perfect. very direct and precise. both are awesome cars tho! i'd take the C32 over the M3 anyways...

At the twisties, I am sure the M3 will win. Prior to the race, my friend gave me a ride back from Irvine, and he did some really fast lane changing and cornering at the on ramps. The car really handles and rides very quite to my surprise. I love his car too.

very nice av2, great race, i've tried racing a guy that lives a couple of blocks from my house but the two times we've found on the streets there has been traffic so I still don't get a chance.
Congrats!

Nice race
. Hope to have an oppurtunity with an M3 one day.
Just one thing. It says you live in Seattle. Did you move or were you in the LA area at the time. I know which road you are talking about and it's a nice stretch. Keep on rollin!

Any chance that you try again from a stop? The C32 has a big torque advantage over the M3, so it should be able to beat it every time from a roll at any speed. From a standing start, the M3 should be about as fast. I'm curious as to how you guys do in that situation.

The new finding in our mini gumball "10"
The E46/M3 limiter engaged at 270 km/h 6500 rpm out of 9000
while Mercedes insists 260 km/hr
These two are damn matches each other on the straight
I respect both of them.
Delimit the C32, 290 km/h is also our new finding.

I wish that i could have one of those two.
I love M3's.
I went with my friend to the DTMPOWER meet here where i live, and went for a drive to this nice little german-like town and just drove the cars like crazy. It was hard as hell to keep up with them 3's knowing none of them are stock.
two m3's were acting a bit crazy and got seperated form the group, doung 115 on the curves, and my friend was crazy enough to run with them with his audi 90S in those curves. The co-driver recorded the whole thing it was wild, i was like WOW when i saw it. Beutiful Scenery.
