Only problem here is that yours was pretty heavily modded, and it sounds more like this guy was stock. And stock to stock, as I showed in this post, a) the two cars' trap speeds are very close, with the SLK350 getting a better one in at least one test; and b) the SLK350's 60-100 mph times are the same as the Scoobie's, faster in a few tests.

So this is perfectly plausible, and in fact if the Scoobie kept right there with him, it sounds like he drove pretty well; if he'd have screwed up, the SLK would have left him...the two are that close.

depends on the model year of the subaru if its stock. and if its modded then even better.

subarus dont really lose all that much power loss through drivetrain
