What do you mean "Old hp #'s maybe?" that's what they make around stock like his, also he lists mods?

My Vette when stock would be damn lucky to run those times at one of those great sea level super tracks on the Eastcoast, especially the 116 trap!! Not happening w/nearly same hp, and his extra 1200 odd lbs..:nix:

Just goes to show there are numerous photochopping experts like our very own SLbrabus out there..

Jons95c36amg 04-17-2007 07:34 PM

That trap speed seems a little high.

EvilllEmpirE 04-18-2007 12:16 AM

maybe with a 150 shot:rolf:

baybenzo 04-18-2007 12:35 AM

lol my friend's C5 Z06 was trapping that same speed with only like 10 less rwhp except it weighed much less obviously. i smell BS

stock et/trap should be more like ~13.2-13.3@107-108mph with an awesome driver

Yeah....I ran the numbers and it should be trapping at about 110 with that weight and horsepower. Crank hp comes out to about 455 with 376 rwhp, not enough to hit 116 w/that curb weight. To do that, he'd need about 520 crank.

You don't find the ETA a little off too?
Click the link, look at the slip? looks really inconsistant, numbers are different sizes etc..did try to look it up from there drag site, but no luck info was if I'm reading it correctly date 11/05/06 10:36 car # 747

350Zman 04-18-2007 06:46 AM

I concur with the OP...I was at Englishtown this last Saturday and witnessed a few SRT8's hitting times like that....However one had heads and cam, exhaust/intake etc..the other was a 150 shot....So deffinately that list of mods on the SRT8 the OP posted is bogus if that SRT8 did indeed do those times.....116mph is heads and cam or 150shot nitrous territory...

ProjectC55 04-18-2007 07:00 AM

12.7 @110 mph 300cSRT8 See Will (NYC_SRT8):naughty:

It's still a HUGE difference from 12.45 @ 116, I'm sure that run above was w/drag rads? and mods:rolleyes:

Fikse 04-18-2007 07:55 AM

maybe a nitrous run.... will write the owner and check...

Of course I do....don't assume so much. :) I think with DR's and a perfect launch, one of those things might be able to hit in the mid-to-high 12's given that stock some have hit very low 13's (possibly high 12's? I forget..)....on a high-torque car like that, DR's can easily shave off 1/2 second or so.

But that wouldn't explain the trap, which is why I focused on that. That car doesn't have the oats to hit that trap, DR's or no.

I looked at it, but it wasn't large enough for me to examine carefully and I was in a hurry. It could be genuine from a different car, or he's modded, something like that. Wasn't an obvious fraud to my eyes like SLBrabuBSBSBS's Microsoft Word-generated forgery. :y

Actually my best is 12.6 @ 112 and when I was stock 12.9 @109. Those hp numbers would equate to 13.1 @108-109. Either the guy is spaying a 100shot or heads, cam, headers, exhaust and drag radials are in the picture. It's all about power to weight ratio. It will be physically impossible to trap those speeds with 370+ whp and weighing 4300lbs.

Give him the benefit of the doubt. He probably didn't dyno with his new mods.

Difficult to give someone the benefit of the doubt when the numbers don't match up and the car's entire profile on dragtimes emphatically states STOCK in virtually every category. :bs:

Thanks for replying, your track data backs up my original thoughts...Also nice modded runs:y

I was so close to getting the 01 clk 55 amg. Its quicker then my Z. But I couldnt give up the Z. So I got the c36 a whole lot cheaper and have the Z too! C36 is my daily driver.

Good choice for a daily! That inline six is sssmmmmooottthhh, like buttah! Too bad they switched to the V6s after that!! Gives them more flexibility, but they're just not nearly as sweet.

Jons95c36amg 04-19-2007 09:08 PM

It seems the Inline 6 is smoother than the Zs v6.

Inline 6's are always smoother than V6's, although some manufacturers (Audi in particular) make V6's that are quite smooth.
