E430 vs. WRX ??
who would win?
considering that its a 1998 E430 stock, and the WRX is an AUTO with no modifications.
how fast are the auto's on a WRX anyways? its only a 4speed?
one of my very very arrogant classmates challenged me to a race off the line with my E430...how would i fair against this person?

I am pretty sure your E430 should beat his WRX. I test driven a WRX auto and the car felt slow. If you race him from a roll, you would definely beat him by a few cars. Good luck and have fun!

i know that wrx are pretty fast cars when they are manuals, but i'm not sure about the auto, is it as fast as they really say? it didn't seem like it to me..
maybe some of the WRX drivers can give some input
i'll keep you guys posted on the outcome..have to do it before i put my winter tires on.

WRX automatics are ok, but I think the guys are right...off the line the Scooby will beat the Benz, but after the intersection, the 430 will wake up and take over. However, I would never recommend going up against a WRX on a curvey road with anything less than another WRX or an Audi quatrro. My little A4 is a quat, and when I first got the car I took on a WRX and was shocked at how well those little things take curves, and the power. The Audi lost, needless to say...less power, more weight, automatic.
