Took an S2k!

The Scenario- Friday night I was downtown in my E55 I had one other person in the car. My friend was behind me in his S4 (short shifter, chipped, rims, tires etc.) I pull up to this Honda S2k, shiny black with a hardtop, tinted windows, lowered a little, charcol finish 10 spoke 18's etc. He claimed it was his project car and he hadn't done anything to the engine yet. To make it short we decide to make a run.

The Race-I power braked to warm up the tires which drew some attention and he kept his engine screaming while the light was red. It turned green and we both launched. The torque and power pushed me back in my seat as the speedo ripped passed 20...30.. and then before I knew it I was in second. We were even through second then I slowly started to pull away. At 55 at night cars parked on the street and street light become more of a blur! I lit up the brakes for the red light ahead! (Yes I admit very stupid doing 70 mph at night downtown!!) As he pulled up to me at the stop light he said "Yeah I have heard a lot about those AMG cars, now I really beleive they have something under the hood!" I replied saying yeah there not bad.

He is one hell of a driver to be able to hang with u till 55mph. I wouldnt be comparing that car with E55 in a straight line performance. To launch S2K the driver should rev to around 6k Rpm to be able to get a decent launch. If he misses the right point by few rpms he will bog or spin. It is the hardest thing to launch. That is why sometimes people see S2K's run 15's sec in the 1/4mile. The fastest i saw S2K run were around 14flat. Some people on S2K forums said the fastest stock were high 13's. Just wanted to shed some info about the car. Anyways man nice kill.

Are you sure it was an S2K? I have never seen a "hardtop" S2K.

Hey....

Yeah there are companys that make hardtops for them.

LSs1Power- Yeah he was a really good driver and got a good launch. His shifts were very crisp and fast to! At about 55 I started to pull away and kept pulling on him to 70 or so. I run a low 13 second 1/4 mile (13.3xx) or around there. He can probably runs high 13 1/4 mile. But we didn't run into the triple digits, which I wish we could have.

Pocholin-

Hey thanks a lot man and I was also surprised he hung with me to 55! My tires spun just a little bit which gave might have given him the edge because he had a perferct launch! Overall it wasn't a bad launch, its hard to control those rears with so much power and torque!! (just takes practice I guess)

I'm sure he has some mods. They are 5.8sec 0 to 60 with a well driver behind the wheels, which means they are no where near your 4.9-5.1 sec car. With some mods such as Intake, full exhaust, headers it can cut few tenths to 60. Did u notice any catback on the car or a whoosh sound from under the hood(Intake not Turbo)? Intakes on the S2K does make a nice sound and it is noticable.

I just found this on S2K forums... http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...threadid=53369

Just to see what those cars can run with a very good driver and less weight.

Hmmmm.....

Well he may have had some engine mods because he already had some cosmetic things. I was under the impression that an S2k would run a 60 in low 5's and a quarter mile in high 13's!? Anyways if this isn't true I am sure he had some mods done, probably just screwing around with me when he said it was stock! As for noticing if he had an intake I didn't hear anything except later in the night my friend (in the S4) seemed to think he had atleast custom exhaust, we both agreed it sounded better and louder than stock!

What mods do u have? I used to own an Acura CL-S with all the bolt ons possible and the car used to get through heavy 18inch wheels around 225RWHP which means around 235RWHP or more with the lighter wheels. Anyways i raced a friend in his S2K and it was soo close. If he didnt get a good launch i win. if he got a nice launch he wins. He was stock by the way. So S2K isnt a slow car, but it is way slower than E55. Oh by the way my car used to run mid 14's at 98mph.

He must have mods. I doubt a stock would even be able to hang with you. Nice kill by the way.

The bull **** in the boys story is as heavy as those 18" you are talking about. Take the bull s hit out of the story and there are no story

good day

Not even going to respond........

I am not even going to respond to Fast Eddy's comments. The fact is I could go on for pages and pages, but I wont. He obvioulsy has nothing better to do. He took a month old story and tried to call B.S. on it, oh well!!

I am glad most of us out here are grown up and can discuss cars not roam the boards trying to thrash other people.

Later Guys,
