C32 Vs S63
First, I have to say I was completely surprised with the outcome of the race. Not what I expected at all!
It was about 3:30AM in a 3 lane highway. I notice a blacked out S63 going at a high rate speed, I caught with him and lined up with him in the middle lane while he was in the left lane. We both had 1 passenger. we both slowed to 35 mph and looked at each other then floored it. I have to say, the S63 roar was amazing. I get the initial jump of a car length on him. So it's on, we're goin 40, 50, 60.... and I'm anxiously awaiting for the monstrous V8 to blow past by me, I look at the side mirror and notice he's still right at my rear bumper and not gaining on me at all!! we kept going to 70, 80, 90.... still nothing, he’s still on my rear bumper and not gaining on me… we take it up to 100 and that’s when I decided to kill it as there was a car on my lane, I was going to change to the right lane to keep the race going but the car ahead of me looked like it was moving towards the right lane so I slowed down… that’s when the S63 just blew by me and took the next exit which was 200-300 feet away.
I was shocked there for few seconds. My passenger commented on how this is the first car to ever be able to keep up like that with me as she was a frequent passenger in my car who witnessed many kills in my C32. I told her that was a 500HP machine and that I’m in a complete shock to see how he didn’t blow past by me. I guess the weight difference does make a difference!!! I would have loved to see the results after 100 MPH. I mean the whole purpose I lined up with him was to watch and hear the monstrous V8 blow past by me at full throttle but unfortunately, I didn’t get my quest :-( .. Oh well I can’t complain to know my little AMG can go head to head with an S63 up to 100 MPH!!

Well the S63s just came out...
From what I gather the engine needs some time to fully break in? So maybe the guy's engine wasn't fully ready to race OR the guy should get his money back!
Even with the weight difference the S63 should be able to handle a C32.
Anyways nice kill! You can always brag about that now.

I'm too lazy to do reasearch, but isn't there *at least* a 1000lb difference between the 2 cars?
Nice write up

I'm already bragging about how I think my C32 is possessed!!! hahaha. The other day I raced a convertible corvette C6 from 0 to 80 and again I get the initial jump of a car length and almost maintained it till the end of the race. The corvette was crawling slowly and by the time we reached 80 and killed it due to traffic coming up, I had half a car length on him. I asked the driver if it was a C5 or a C6 since I couldn’t find any markings on it and he claimed it was a C6?? I'm not too familiar on how to spot the difference between a C5 and a C6, but from what I know, a C6 is supposed to be faster than my C32 according to what I've been reading about it!!

That's exactly what I had in mind, especially after watching a video where someone posted a CLK55 getting spanked by an ML63. The S63 should be on the same weight level if not less!

Nice run, C32s are real sleepers. Out the box some cars are quicker than others so sounds like you have a particularly quick example. An E63 would redress the balance of power though.

aah ok! Then it was def a C6 because it didn't have the pop up headlamps! I though the pop up headlamp corvettes were discontinued and replaced by the new look!! So I guess it's safe to assume a C5 has the pop up and a C6 has the rounded headlamps.

As a previous C32 owner, i'd have to guess that he was not pushing it. Even with the weight difference he should have taken you. Is your C32 stock? Good race either way.

I'm pretty sure he was trying hard due to the way the exhaust was screaming from the start, There is no way you can miss the amazing sound of that 63 engine at full throttle!!. Unless the S63 has some kind of mode like the M5 to reduce HP or something, I don’t see how he can stay at my rear bumper like glue without fully pushing it!! Besides, the second I let go off the gas is the second he blew by me instantly and kept going to his exit which was 200-300 feet away!
Aside from green filters which shouldn't count, my cars engine is completely stock. Hopefully he's a member here and can give us an insight from his point of view.

If the S63 can run low 13's or high 12's ,someone please show me! Don't forget the MPH as well. Remeber this car is not an S55.

Oh you bet it looks fast and super aggressive... scary aggressive with the quad exhausts and AMG body kit. I agree with you, the 600/65 would've probably given me the show I was anticipating.

For whatever reason (wrong gear, slow reaction time, etc.), an initial 1 car-length jump as OP mentioned should be enough to beat S63. This means C32 was ahead by 1 car length and faster speed (5mph faster? ). So it's not surprising S63 didn't have enough time to pass C32 at 100.
I was on W210 E55 one time at around 40mph and one fool accord coupe (V6 manual) did about 2 car length jump before I decided to floor my car also. I was in a wrong gear... so my car down shifted at around 3 car length behind and I only passed him after 120mph.
So to me... the story is believable.

It would be great if you can post a link to your source, there is little info on the net about the S63 quarter mile. I have however found info showing the S65 doing 100 in less than 10 sec but not an S63!

If you'd both started at exactly the same moment (and the odds of that are pretty slim, with differing reaction times among humans) he should have walked you, unless your car is either a) modded, or b) a total factory freak, or he was running 87 octane, or hauling lots of extra weight, yadda yadda ya...
