Is A Kill Worth A Death?
Our cars are fast. Very Fast.
2 tons travelling at 100? 150? more? Suddenly you lose control. Yes it can happen to you.
Don't endanger lives, yours, mine or innocent bystanders for ego or pride. It's not worth it. Hundreds are killed each year. Thousands are injured. Ask a Paraplegic if it was worth it. Ask the families.
A tire can blow out. A thousand things could happen even if your car is in perfect condition and your head is clear.
I know it's fun, excilerating, exciting. I've done it. It's wrong and I was lucky. How long can you be lucky? We have great cars, let's be more mature in how we use them.
There are great racing schools out there. Try one but don't street race.
IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!

The deaths will continue to mount as legal track racing dwindles due to closure. In southern California(the birthplace of drag racing) there were numerous drag strips, it sparked car culture and many folks grew up with it, now its done on the street because the local tracks are all closed due to the expense of land. Guess what? more folks are dying and few people care, they need to mine , they need space for trash and concrete storage. 36 million people and sorry to say 1 track (1/4) mile in so cal open 1 time per month aint gonna help at all. The answer is MORE TRACKS, MORE sanctioned, city and state supported events=less death
You sig does beg the question though, why do you own one of the fastest production cars on the road? Do you track your car weekly/monthly and drive pretty conservatively otherwise?
I can respect that and admire your self control. More times then not, with that kind of power at my finger tips and the aggresive drivers of today, I would find myself hammering the throttle more and more.
All for "take it to the track" though. Very good point.
