My E55 vs CL65 Video

Look, maybe you're right. Maybe they shouldnt race. However, this is his post. Just let me show us his video. He's not going to take your advice, and give up racing in mexico.

GOTCha- but u could clearly see the rate of speed of the cl not quite moving when he shows the speedometer. And in those speeds the 65 engine shows its beauty. I had the same flaw on my 65( IC Pump) and it feels like the turbos are inoperative.

Why did you buy an SRT8 if you dont condone what vic and ed got into in a foreign country?
Whats so much safer about your racing preferences on the street? Just because you dont do it through an intersection? give me a break anything can happen at anytime, your tire could blow out on the highway racing or you could hit something on the freeway that you couldnt see in your lane until too late and it could cause you to crash into other vehicles. Sounds like your just trying to judge them.

I didn't like the videos or the circumstances, period. Love the cars though.
My commute home at 70mph in rush hour has more risk than any street race I participate in.

If ENDSMNGT stage 2 E55 can beat a C6 ZO6 twice giving the ZO6 the break then I can't see why its hard to believe that this SL65 could lose to a higher HP and lower weight E55.

Basically you are getting no where so why bother? They are adults let them make their own choices. As much as I am not with street racing in their situation it looked safe especially after the intersection let the local police worry about it.

I was just as surprised as the rest of you when my car kept up with the big 65. I dont think there was anything wrong with his car at all. My E class really shines up top as well, so I guess mine is just a beast

The modded E55 when properly cooled is definitely a seriously quick car. Its able to pull on M5's pretty badly up top if done right, so I could see it running even with or possibly pulling on a CL65. Modded CL65 is another story.

What trap speeds do you hit in the 1/4 mile with your level of mods? If you're deep in the 120s, that would explain it!

E55
Vic...I told ya so,I TOLD YA SO! Should have kept that E55.
The E55 is modded with bolt on's but not what I would call a heavily modded E55.He doesnt even have the 80mm TB.
Headers, ecu and pulley arent exactly heavily modded to me.

I too felt that my SL65 was underpowered and the dealer always told me nothing was wrong. Finally I got sick of it and got rid of it, my SL65 would give it's power so inconsistently, it's like Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde, sometimes it would feel really fast and other times it would just suck. It really takes the videos you shared here to bring this problem out into the open and it's a great point of reference with your old E55. Please keep us posted on your 65, I'm sure we would all like to see a rematch if possible. What about your M6 matching up with the 55? Thanks for sharing and taking the heat for it.
Bye the way how would your old E55 match up with a stock 07' 997TT?

Based on all the mods which include suspension and brakes, I would consider it heavily modded. And like you said, its only missing the 80mm TB. Anything further than that is outside of the modding norm considering what members have done here. A few have done cams but dont forget that (Blue's) car has the AMG LSD and euro axles as well. Those are performance mods too as well as the cooling pump which allowed him to maintain all that power after heavy runs before the vids.

I am SOOOO making it to the next meet. And who knows, maybe I'll be in a Z06 myself ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
The SL/CL65 have the same faulty pump as the 55k's do. This should be replaced on all stock vehicles as it instantly kills power as soon as heat rises. This could be a contributing factor
