clk550 v 335

this thing is fun... i think people underestimate the power of a clk550. i wouldnt say that i raced anyone today, but when i saw those angel eyes in my rear view mirror, i wouldnt let the guy pass me. when i eventually let off the gas, the badge read 335 (four door)

I think it's because people don't know the CLK550's numbers?? I mean it has a more high tech engine than the CLK55 from past years!

Your right a good driver in a clk 550 should easily pull on a 335 unless its a girl, then i would happily let her win so that way she can have a story 2 tell.

When you say beats,just because it has more hp, how do you figure it beats a 55 when the bodies they are in are heavier?

He's comparing the two motors to each other, not the two models. Having had some seat time in the S550, I can add testament to this motor's capabilities. If I recall reading correctly, it makes 75% of its torque from a mere 1000rpms, making even the vault-like S haul. The 7SP is impressive as well, and the exhaust note is appealing for stock. Quad cams and a 4V per cylinder setup are back for the big eight!

Also, the CLK55 AMG has the tuned AMG transmission.

My buddy has a CLK 550 and I have driven both, and we both admit the CLK55 AMG feels faster on the but dyno.
