04 CLK55 vs 08 E63
In Houston, you pray for days like yesterday: 72 degrees, sunny, low humidity. I was on the way back from the grocery store with the top down and enjoying the weather on one of the few nice streets in Houston (Memorial). All of the sudden I see HID's closing on me at a rapid pace, I punch it and get the cab up to 75mph (we were in a 50mph zone) in order to prevent an proctology examine by the E63. We squirt in and out of traffic but using caution as the traffic was a little thick. OK this wasn't even a contest:
1. The E63 driver was just driving fast and not looking for a race.
2. The E63 would have spanked my butt and called me Sally (sub 12 sec 1/4 mile vs mid 13 sec 1/4 mile)
The 63 was a nice pewter color with an engine incredible sound (couldn't believe it was stock!). So where is the kill? Believe it or not a late model Miata was trying to keep up! I didn't even pay attention but I believe it was an attractive female driving the Miata (the E63 had me mesmerized). Any ways, all 3 of us lined up at the light (I gave the 63 a huge thumbs up and told him that he had 140 hp over me - he was surprised that it was that much), the light turns green and the Miata was just an after thought. In fact it was so embarrassing that the driver gave up. I think we encouraged her earlier by not giving our cars full throttle!
