S600 vs M5

I didn't plan on racing. We just happened to end up at the light side by side. I've got a black 03 S600. A big beast of a car. The M5 was the new style. Black. Very, sweet looking car. Sounded great too! We both left the light normally. Maybe a little aggressively. I just wanted to stay in front. So I was staying ahead. Couldn't see the M5, as he was in my blind spot. Oh, boy, but I could hear the sweet V10 music. He was starting to come up, so I nailed it and took off. I kept pulling away, and he could not catch up. I kept pulling away up to about 140, then let off. We slowed down to about 45, we were almost side by side, and he nails it and just pulls ahead. So I pin it, and keep pulling on him, until about 135, where I passed him. We slowed down again, he pulls next to me and I give him the thumbs up! He just smiled. I'll bet he didn't expect that real quiet, big *** Benz to hand him his cookies.

When modified, that bi-turbo V12 sure does pull

You never know what mods the car has you are about to race though...there is never a certainty.

no question that you shouldve won...that s600 is a monster of a car; one of my friends has one and i have raced him a few times in my highly modded m6...after our experiences, i can definitely tell that if the m5 was modded, he would've had a very hard time with you even if you didnt have the ecu...but with the ecu he didnt have a chance without a hell of a lot of mods. regardless nice kill

Thanks! This M5 could have been modded. It was no slacker. The run was not a cake walk.

Well, from what I remember of the SL65, it was awesome without the RENNtech tune. After it was tuned, it was just crazy. I never did dyno it, so I don't know what kind of numbers it put down, but I do remember it just pinned me back into the seat. It was a much lighter car than this S class I have now. The 65 definitely pulled harder and faster!!! I almost wish I never got rid of it. My next one will be another 65. Possibly a CL. I really do like the bi-turbo V12's.

No doubt about it the power of the tuned SL65 is intoxicating; keeps on going and going and going.
