Cat and Mouse with a 335i
On the way to take my daughter to school I see a 335i coupe ahead hitting it hard so I can hear his exhaust. I could tell he was an automatic. So I catch up and pass him at the next stop. We both come to a red light. I got my dog and daughter with me so I am trying to be safe. Light turns green he takes off hard. I take off normally so he is ahead about 3 car lengths; then I hit it and I catch up to his bumper and then let off. I know he thinks he beat me but I know I was catching up pretty quick and would pass him. I just cannot risk it with my daughter
Anybody know what the 0-60 is on a automatic 335i. It cannot be less than 5 sec. for sure. Cause mine should be right around 4.7-5 with modds. Anyway thought I would share my experience

For him to give the guy a 3 car jump and catch up to him, he'd have to be going mighty fast to make up that huge 3 length disadvantage...

apparently it's working if I am pulling on the 335i. I have not put it to the top speed test to see if it can go over 155.

A stock 335i is faster than the E46 M3 and does the 0-60 in about 5.5. A tuned 335i like mine are doing 0-60mph as low as 3.89, 4.14 to 4.7. My 335i quite a bit faster than my supercharged 210 E55.
I raced an SL600 V12 TT from 35mph to 125mph and we were dead even. My quarter mile time is around 12.3

The turbos are not blowing up on the N54, its the wastegates that are causing the problem, most mostly its a rattling sound caused by a small "gasket" that fails. This gaskets is not making a tight seal when the wastegate are closed. BMW is replacing both turbos as a fix for $8,000 under warranty, but really they only need to replace a $10 part.
Most of the wastegate failures have been on stock cars with some as low as 5,000 miles. I really don't think its the software causing the issues, its a BMW flaw.

I have 25k on the car and I have had software from almost day one. I run the car hard everyday and all is good. Right now I have the new Juice Box 3 tunning running around 14.5psi with no spikes.
