CLK500 VS 350Z?

How would this work out?
I just bought one and my buddy is being a typical Nissan fan boy saying that his Z can cream me. I think from a roll like 35mph the v8 torque would pull on him. He has the 6spd i have the 5spd slush box.

The reason I'm asking is, I dont want to be embaressed by him.

Very close race. The newer 350Z (I think it's the HR) is more powerful than the other ones. You have a 5 speed and not the 7 so your outcome may be different than mine.

It'll be verrrry close. Don't expect to give him a spanking.

I doubt you will win stock vs stock.
350z's are usually moded. cai, exhaust, ecu. Should of gone with an AMG

His Z is all stock and so is my CLK, I plan on taking out my spare, eventualy ripping out the hole where spare was and replacing it with 4 cans of fix a flat. Than a true dual exhaust and yes straight piped!! I'll call Oliver up at speed tunning and have him give me a nice tune. He told me he can get 20 whp for $300. I swear to God Oliver has some of the tunning software in the world for 50% less than the big brand name guys. Just ask the VOLVO guys and the Audi/Vw guy's he gives acurate info.

It'll be close. Is he a good driver? If not then you should be able to pull on him between shifts.

My last daily before the black series was a 2004 CLK500. Only mod was a sprint booster and I could take a 350Z no problem. Good luck!

I had it done on my CLK500.

I never had it dyno'd, but I could feel the difference and when I had rematches with certain cars, it seems like it helped. Worth the $300.

call him at 301-421-9464 or email him at info@SpeedTuningUSA.com let him know what model year if its a 320 350 500 550 etc agree on a price with return shipping remove your ecu wrap in bubble wrap 3x put in a box with old news paper ship it out to him. tell him that you want it to come back to you just as secure as you sent it out to him. ecu's are fragile thats why i stress this. once it comes back you drive it hard like a mother fu(ker for around 40-50 miles to make tcu be used to more power and give you more agressive shifts.

In theory it would be a very close race, but you will have an advantage in that there is less chance for driver error on your part. He will need to have a perfect launch and perfect shifts to pretty much hang with you.

you will take him/her in the top end. the 500's pull pretty decently up top. I mean it should be close, but displacement is a big part of it too

It was faster from low end to top end. The throttle response and the way it revved was much more aggressive.

I also had my top speed governor removed.

are you racing from a dig or from a roll? if u are rolling you will take him for sure as long as you are shifting manually. you have to be in the right gear when you go, so you loose no time for your car to downshift. otherwise don't be disappointed when you end up fender to fender from 40-90. play safely!
