2002 C230 Coupe Black/Charcoal C5 C7 Auto
02 c230k coupe vs possibly 03 c230k coupe

i was coming back from a bbq with 2 friends and a full trunk on Beltway 8 (a very nice tollway where u can do 130+ w/o much traffic). I have 2 passenger and have a full trunk w/ A/C on. I see another black coupe coming up next to me and looks completely stock. I started to catch up to him just to see if i can wave to the drive but as soon as i get next to it the driver took off. I was curious so I decided to tail him....still a/c on....and the passengers ....we're doing about 75/80mph. when i get next to him i decided to drop 4th and hit it to about 105mph....maybe his reaction time was slow but i pulled away and led by about 2 cars length....i waited for him. He weaved through some light traffic and decided to come up next to me (i was doing about 65mph now) the i decided to drop to 4th and punch it...we both had the same reaction this time around as both car goes off. once i reach 100mph i start pulling away up to 115/120mph when i decide to not let my passengers freak out (2 girls :-) but I pulley away about 3 car lengths by then. Granted I do have the Kleemann pulley kit but i figure with 2 passengers, full trunk (about 50/60lbs) and a/c on (well i have accessory pulley too) with AUTO tranny....i dont know whether the other coupe was 02/03 or 6spd/auto but even with worst case scenerio that it was the 1.8L 03 auto vs 2.3L 02 auto w/ pulley I still have about almost 300lbs weight disadvantage.

i've driven both the 2.3 and the 1.8 and i couldn't tell the difference but i didn't drive them hard either.

now, try racing a '90s (or was it '80s, probably) Supercharged V-6 Cougar (a friend's dad had one) and you'd better pack your lunch cause it'll take you to school. i really do miss my cougar, but my brother's treatin her well i hear. he's already stuck two subs in the trunk and a new HU in, and she's got new tires.
