8-for-8
My car runs 11.6s to 11.7s for the most part with an absolute best ET of 11.4 so any car that runs low 11s or better would light me up. I just didn't happen to run against anyone quite that fast.
The 8 "kills" included:
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (he came closest with an 12.2 run trapping at a strong 124 mph)
- 1970 Chevy Nova with a 383 (he ran 12.4)
- Olds 442 (he ran 12.9; he was almost as loud as the non-street legal cars...must have been running an open exhaust)
- C4 Chevy Corvette with a 383
- Pontiac Firebird
- GMC 1500 pickup truck (had 16" drag radials but only good for 15.9 @ 90 mph)
There was another R230 was at the track today, an SL550. He ran a 13.2 second 1/4 mile which would be a new Dragtimes record for an SL550 if he posts it. A nice run for him. Mercedes did a good job with the 550 engines.

Tom
I am just wondering as any stock AMG car that can run mid 11's is one that I want to keep on my radar for future acquisition, lol

There are usually a handful of folks who know what an AMG is and their first question is usually whether I'm stock.
Most other folks notice that the SL is roughly similar in size to a Ford Mustang--177" L x 71" W x 50" H for the SL versus 188" L x 74" W x 55" H for the Mustang--and figure it will be about as fast. Most of them are surprised it can run 11s.

- 175 mm Crankshaft Pulley
- K&N HiFlow Filters
- VRP/Powerchip software tune
- Shorty Headers
- 80 mm TB kit
To run 11s with a stock AMG you'd want the V12 twin turbo SL65 or another one of the 65 AMGs. The non-AMG SL600 also has a V12 twin turbo that can run 11s with just an ECU tune.
