Ohh this one is I believe an 08 model...
"An 8.4-liter V10 engine delivers 600 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a standard limited-slip differential"
That's why it trapped so high. But I get what you are saying the older model just comes with 500HP i believe. Nice Kill![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I forgot there is a 600hp version of the viper SRT-10 now.

Here is what it looked like.

just reading the story has my blood pumping, i hate that feeling, I always end up doing something stupid, like leave ESP during a launch DOH. I thought I would be used to that feeling after 10 years of driving like an idiot. sometimes I get this HUGE pain in my spine if I come across another racer.
and, you hit tripple digits on a side street? you are mad!

Was a big street and we had no cars or intersections for a little stretch. It was almost perfect.

I believe "lastest" is the "latest" technical term being bandied about in Dodge's SRT division. It applies directly to their sales relative to the competition.

UPDATE: I saw this red monster drive by and he reved on me a last week. It appears to be the new SRT10 with 600hp. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So, I quickly mashed the throttle and caught up to him. We did 3 honk rolling start. 1st run dead even. My car was out of the power band and he was in too high of a gear. He said he messed up. 2nd run he starts at an odd mph where my car is out of the power band in 2nd but too high of rpm for 1st. I didn't want to waste time so I obliged. He took off and pulled away by 2 cars and if it wasnt for traffic ahead he would have kept going. The guy turned out to be really cool. He had his name stickered to his door like a nascar or dukes of hazard. He said he makes 518 to the wheels and some insane tq number. This guy is a real cowboy who loves to race
.
Turns out this was the same modded Viper my buddy ran in his TT C6 Vette. He walked him with with faulty waste gates. (not boosting right) This thing sounded great and runs very strong. I would have proffered to race from a dig or a 60-130mph roll but, the time of day did not allow. Maybe next time.

I don't think the red'un above is the 600bhp version. It looks older and is as quick as sin.
The first 450bhp and second 500bhp versions are more likley given the outcome....
Nice writeup and pic though...![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I am not a viper expert but it was very fast and loud too! He said he makes over 518whp. So, I figured that's about 600hp at the crank. He said he had a intake or something? Maybe it was a modded 550hp version

for the record I'm not doubting your story, but my guess is the guy is inflating his numbers. especially common among owners of domestics and would explain the results, Vipers are light and with all that displacement one with 518whp would whoop your E55...even the 65-series cars

PS you got one hell of a factory freak to hang in with a 518whp anything in a stock E63.

Nice Max
! You are #1 in my book for provoking a race
. I never get that kind of love around here
. Tell me Max....what's your secrret
!
All kidding a side Max, you have one healthy as$ stock beast on your hands. Do you and Sean ever plan on lining up? I think you should give him a run for his money, yeah? Maybe the next time I'm down we could all meet up somewhere in Mexico and do a few friendly runs. I'm not sure how I'll do against a V12TT but should be fun either way. I'll be back in a month or so with the addition of LT's....see ya then!

I've personally witnessed 65s stomp on SRT-10s, alternating as a passenger between vehicles. So I don't know where your getting your information from. Maybe the 600bhp can go head to head from a roll-- but a 500hp version, like the one Max raced, has no chance against a 65.
I'd be hard pressed even to believe 518 would do the job.

Thank you. I don't think my car is a factory freak though. I'm sure my results can be duplicated on another e55 with an upgraded ic pump and same factory options I suspect it can be slightly better.
I think we were both too busy laughing during the 1st race to pay attention to what gear we were in.

Moparbust: Yea, I hear you on that. I don't see those on the road that often. I'm dead even with a newer 500hp version from a dig. I'm pretty happy with that.

I just met up with a really nice modded 996TT the other night and a stock E55. We had some really good pulls from 20, 60 and 80 - 160 and 168 being the highest run. It was the most perfect road in Mexico. It was probably about a 3 mile stretch of 2 lanes nicely paved with a cement center divider with no roads intersecting from the right hand side....perfect.
I'm trying to meet up with a modded M6 sometime in the near future. I hear he's pretty fast but we'll see. We'll probably do runs from 60-160 and hopefully I could put some distance on him early and keep it.

I don't know if I would beat either of your guy's beast but it will be fun regardless. I believe Sean is putting down around the same power as my car so it should be fun. As for you, you're getting it done on the streets and constantly proving yourself over and over again. Me, I'm just a dyno queen up to this point ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
. Let's do a few runs and grab some drinks afterwards, that's where all the fun is.

Nice runs Max, the mash and go of the E55 always does the trick in the real world unless you are dealing with some super power... ![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
When you and Alan set up the Mex runs, PM me... Ill bring Orca or the Blood Clot.

It would be nice to clarify if a car is stock or not. Not everyone looks at the sig to see mods. With that being said, I'm not quite sure what the record is for any 65 model but I am familiar with the 55/63 records. The best a stock GenIII Viper '03-'06 (510HP) ran in the 1/4 was 11.6...... Which I believe is faster than any stock 55 and 63. The fastest a Gen IV ran stock ('08-'09 600HP) is 10.9 officially...(10.8 UNOFFICIAL...no slip posted). One '08 ran 10.9 with only 100 something miles on her. I don't believe any merc runs 10's stock.

Hey Vic, which one of your 2 cars are faster up top....Blood clot (great nickname) or Orca? I also think you know the guy I ran, Enrique from the Bay Area. He drives a silver 2001 modded 996TT. I believe your name came up once when we were bs'ing after the runs. Really nice guy!
