E500 possible kills

As a almost owner of a new E500 (delivery is next week), what cars will not realize that my car will beat them off the line. In other words, what ****y sportscar drivers will be surprised that my sedan will take them?

2003 CLK 500
i took an e500 by three car lengths to 80 mph from a stop...not once but twice. my car is completely stock, no modifications , and i left it in drive. seemed a little too easy... e must be heavier. I have had a similar experience vs an sl 500 as well.
Its not about who or what you can beat in a race, its about how you feel driving your piece of mechanical artistry.
enjoy your new ride when it comes in!
good luck,
jules

MBE 500, Toyota Celica x2, Yamaha R1,
I beat a slk 320 with my 500E from stop up to 180 (112mph)when we drove home from our winter holiday. My car was full loaded in the trunk and a ski box. The 320 driver thought it would be a pice of a cake to leave my behind, but he mess with wrong guy.

Thumbs up aargh

Bundy-

A new E500? I am veeery jealous. What color? I took one out for about a half hour, man what a car! And that adjustable suspension actually works. They did such a wonderful job on the exterior/interior design. I have had my ML500(only 288 bhp) for a year now and the power is so intoxicating, passing somebody is just a matter of pointing and squeezing the throttle. I have caught myself too often glancing down at the speedo and seeing that I was doing 90. I kind of screwed myself, because I test drove the 500 first and then drove the 320. Wow, no comparison.

BTW I was amazed to discover I average over 21mpg going 70-80mph using the cruise control. So much for gas guzzling SUV's. My A4 2.8Q would only get about 19mpg.

One thing I've always loved about MB is that when they wanted to make a powerful car, it was very powerful. Our family cars have included several Benzes, among them a Beautiful, almost regal 1973 Dark green on brown leather 280sel 4.5 litre. When you laid into that throttle from a stand still, it felt like god himself was pushing you. That is, of course, once those narrow 205mm tires got traction. Bad idea to let your high school kid drive it. Another powerhouse for its time was a 1987 signal red on black 560sl with that 5.5 litre 227bhp motor. Did Cadillac really think the Allante could compete?
