Simple story. I pull up to a face lifted model Mustang GT convertible and some guy with sunglasses on (in overcast seattle weather) looks over at me with a big grin and blips his throttle a couple of times. First time I've ever seen someone drive a new GT spiritedly (except for a shelby GT500 that did a ricer flyby on me...). Just in case I turn off my ESP...

The light goes green and my better judgement goes out the window when I hear him punching it. Instinctively I floor it, causing me to spin through first and he's half a car length ahead. Second comes in and I walk him before the next block. He just sits at the intersection smiling and give him the thumbs up for playing and we part our separate ways.

Its kind of funny how the cars that I thought were fast when I was younger are now relatively slow once you get into a car that makes over 400hp

The 400hp motor isn't out yet I'm pretty sure. You got a facelifted, old engine model.

Yep, I'm aware it wasn't the coyote 5.0 motor since they aren't out yet. Otherwise, it would have been a very different race.






If I bought a 2010 mustang GT I would be livid that they were putting in the new 5.0 motor.

Well the thing is the c55 and the c63 are completely different body styles and correct me if i'm wrong but I thought the c63 was introduced as a 08 model?

I would be upset if I bought a 05 c55 and the next year they put the 6.2 motor in the same chassis for the same price lol.

I've not raced a 2010, but every other single stock GT I've raced in my S500 I can pull on. Miserable American car

But trust me, if you're racing '74s, my first (miserable) car, I can relate.

I have pulled many times on my friends 02 GT 4.6 from 100-180kph in my 95 500. Not from a roll though, shes to old for that.

The three valve that comes in the 05-10 models GT's responds VERY well to mods, and can be built to be a mid 12 car relativley cheaply. The 4 valves are no joke at all, my 03 Cobra was 620rwhp, and I hadn't even touched the internals. Mustangs ca be deceptive, after owning various f-bodys, and a C5 vette, I can honestly say the Cobra has been the best bang for my buck car, ever!
