For whatever reason, the W211 E55 Wagon gets picked on a lot. I always ignore the race gestures. However, there was this Lexus ISF that just got to me. I see the car once in a while and I always ignored it. This time, I was at a red light on a straight street, with no turns offs from or turns in onto the 3 lane road. I am in the middle lane and no one to either side of me. The light is always long at this section. In my mirror, I see this car screaming down at me. At first, I thought the car was going to hit me, then at the last second the car moves to my left side. I make sure to not make eye contact and just go my merry way. Light goes green and I intentionally start out slow. No intention of a go. Well, the Lexus ISF matches my slow speed, then races up a few feet, then hits the brakes. Finally, I had enough and look at him. He floors it first, then I went. It was not even close and over in a few seconds. I stopped when I was 3 or 4 cars lengths ahead. At the next light, he gives me a thumbs up and I make my right turn.
On the same road later that day, but coming from the opposite direction, a new Porsche Boxster Spyder (pretty car) is on my left side (I am in the middle and no one on my right). We are at the light with no one in sight or in front of us. I could tell the Spyder wanted a run. I am short on gas, so I ignore it. Light goes green and I am off my normal merry way.....and, go figure, the Spyder does the same thing as the ISF. Races ahead of me a few yards, hits the brakes and then the driver looks over at me when I catch up. Same thing as before with the ISF. The only difference was that I was farther ahead by the end of the quick go (about 5 to 6 cars) and the owner of this Spyder looking straight ahead, not looking at me at the next light. I guess he thought his Spyder was quicker then the Wagon.
