The ML430's first victory

Well, I wasn't sure when this day would happen, but it did!!
This all took place about 3 weeks ago. I was at a stop light with 2 lanes. I was in the right lane and next to me in the left lane was this blue audi A4 (2001 or older...not the new body style....no dual exhaust) with a fifty-something year old lady driving it. So I figure no way she will try it....but the light turns green and she goes for it!! So I say a little prayer and smash the pedal. This is my first race in my new (used)truck....I must say for a small V8 in a big truck it handles itself OK....of course its no CLK430. Now I'm not sure if this lady was really trying or not....it looked to me like she was, but I killed her. When I slowed down she was about half a car length behind me. I was up to 80MPH when I decided I better let off the throttle and get back to normal limits. After slowing, she blew by me and all I could do was smile. Needless to say I won't be racing too many things in this ML, but this was a nice kill for me. I miss my CLK430...now that was a killing machine!!

Thumbs up 50 yrs old lady?? May be she was in a rush getting to work!

YOu know one of those commercials, when they show an old lady in front of the wheel, and her eyes are barely on top of the wheel.

Was it one of those ladies?

lol

Good for you, but some of those old ladies don't want to race you, they just push the gas for pushing it and don't even realize they are speeding or entering a race.

I know I was going to get alot of crap about this...but remember. I'm used to the CLK430 where I could beat about 80-90% of the cars out there. Now I"m in the ML430 which feels like a tank and is slow to my standards. I know that 90% of the cars out there will take me off the line. And this lady was defenitely trying to get ahead of me. I just couldn't let her do that....its a matter of pride!!! Let an Audi beat a Mercedes??? Never!!!!

Does this mean I will go out and search for elderly ladies to race...well....maybe, but thats besides the point!!! Just buying time until the E55 comes and then I can post some real races....I hope!!

And Poch.....Oh yeah, she wanted to race....she lokked over at me with one eye squinted and reved her engine twice.....then flipped me off.....oh yeah she wanted to race!!!!

Ok, OK just kidding....I wish it went down like that...then It wouldn't feel like such an empty victory.

Talking Don't get us wrong now, the ML are fast, especially the 430 and up

Yes, they are slow on the line but when that baby kicks in....
GET OUT OF THE WAY! ( that song by Fabulous, "Move b*tch get out the way.."

Think of it this way, if you raced and both cars fell off the cliff, guess who would survive?

YEP...the ML....At least you have you life back. hee hee

peace

I get frustrated with old people too, but don't knock 'em too hard, cause there are some upity old people out there. My grandfather owns a 740iL BMW and he is so not scared to drive that thing. We raced an X5 on I-44 one day. He knows how to handle it too. He also 73 years old.
