An evening of kills part 4
OK, I had already made it home and called it a night of kills, but I had to take some movies back to block buster, so once more I jumped on the car and drove to block buster, on my way back I see this Ford Lightning going fairly slow thru the little traffic around, I'm like, "what a shame", it turns out that 1 light before my subdivision we got lined up, I rev a little and start pushing my car a little from time to time, teasing the guy 
; well it worked, at the green he punches it at the same time I did, so we got a nice take off, by 65 I was a little ahead of him (but not a car lenght, his front bumper on my rear quarter panel !).
By then I decide not to go home and continue playing with the guy, at the next light they lowered their wndows, and said my car was really nice and asked what I had done to it, the guy claimed 400 HP in his truck, I told him 350, I've only drop K&N air filters, they then told me they were taking it easy because a cop had just stopped them for no reason (they didn't even get a ticket), and then asks me if I want to go again to 70, I said "YES"
Well at the gree we both punched it, but I was a little slow at the green, so the got their front door by my bumper at launch!
, by 70 mph I was right next to them, I guess you can call that one a draw :o

, It had been a while since I had had so much fun driving, my car parked for a month, no opportunities to race, etc.

Fast, yes, but...
...Lightenings are FAST!, but they are also geared much much differently than a car. Their forte is torque. If that truck were geared not to haul loads, I doubt he'd have the trouble he was having wi th you

Hey brianhn1.
Me and my friends were on our way back from the beach the oher day and we raced each other. Thenmy friend showed us to a place were its a straightaway. I dont know the name of it. It's near the beach though and it is a one lane street. But no one is there at night. All there is is a hotel.

I dunno bout that
I have a hard time believing this story. Stock lightnings that are supercharged are rated in at 380 and they run 13.019 and they are also automatics. If he had anything done to his lightning he would have beaten you if you ran 13.1 E/Ts i enjoy reading your story but my friend has a lightning and those with any little modification done to them could probably run high 12s if the guy knows how to start off. And secondly if he punched it he would have spun the tires easily for 3 or 4 seconds. I have read your other stories and they are great but this one im having a little trouble with im not gonna call out the b/s flag though cuz it could be true but im just saying u never know though... i could be wrong.if true very good kill and congrats it was a good fight if its true like this

A stock lightning doesnot run 13 flats, in Texas with a great weather you can get 13.4s I've been to the track a lot I know those numbers, if you put pulley, chip and cold air induction you can run high 12s, I have a friend running mid 12s on his lightning, he also changed the differential gears.
Here's a Car and Driver article on a new Lightning , they say 13.8, where are you getting your numbers from??
